I would save your cash and then get a freak.

Generel concensus is any barrel will serve you well (barring manufacturer defects) as long as you have the correct paint to match the barrel bore size. :D

Of course everyone will have their own opinions because of their own personal experiences.

Two Words: Smar Parts

This time, Two Words spelled correctly: Smart Parts (I find it funny that I spelled Smart wrong...)

I've found the CP One-Piece in your choice of bore size to be the best barrel for the money.

Any Smart Parts barrel is your best bet.

CP, J&J, and Lapco are all great values in my opinion.

Actually since DYE has recently discontinued their aluminum barrel, stores have been selling them cheaply, like $50, so that's another barrel you might want to consider.

Freak is the best value per dollar. $200 divided by 8 = $25 per barrel. It shoots anything, anywhere, if it can be shot at all. Last barrel you will ever need. For just a single barrel, go Lapco autospirit, usually about 55 bucks. Very accurate, very well made, light, cleans out fast, paint tolerant, and more efficient than anything else.

Yeah but that assumes that you need 8 bore sizes, which is far more than most players need. Also you're stuck with a two piece/step bore design, which hurts efficiency.

You are right. That is why I offer the Lapco option. It shoots most paint well (actually better than other barrels I have). 14 inches is not the most efficient, but I prefer it for aiming purposes, and for bending inflatable bunkers.

I've heard wonders about the older Smart Parts All-American's... the one's that don't screw/unscrew. I should be getting mine in a few days, I'll keep ya posted.

best barrel for the money is the 11" crown point in the store for 20 bucks. I dare you to get 10 times the accuracy with a 200 dollar barrel. :)

Plus you get that annoying ringing for free.
How about 3 times the accuracy for 3 times as much? =Lapco.

I'm not rich but I don't buy cheap stuff, so DYE or SP would be my vote, never tried a Lapco though.

I dare you to get three times (ie. 300%) increase in accuracy for $60. Besides, I like the ring. ;)

I hate to be the one that disagrees with you Tom, but the Crown Point eats my paint for breakfast. I get so many breaks at the end of the barrel it is digusting. I do however love my 68 Automag Stock 11" that I polished all the anodizing off of! That is without a doubt the best barrel I have used on my mag, if not the prettiest.

The best barrel for the money is the old school AGD Crown Point, I kid you not, I sold my freak set and this is the barrel I'm using almost exclusively!!! That is, untill the Automag Equation set comes out!!!
