View Full Version : Would you pay $105.00 for an AO Jersey?

Well that's the question. They can be made by the best in the biz on Pro Series NPPL style jerseys but would you really want to buy them.
For a run of 100
NPPL Style Jersies
three colors
poly micro fiber fabric
v neck or round neck
with or without elbow pads
with names and numbers add $20.00
You could buy a Paintball Junkies Jersey Just like it for around $50.00.
Is it really worth another $55.00 for an AO one??
This is just my first attempt at talking with the best. I am working on something locally that may be cheaper.

Let me know (this is of course assuming getting Tom and Webbies approval to avoid copywrite issues.

I know me neither. So what would you pay? Or would you rather have less quality??

I'm sorry man, this sounds like a great idea and I would love to have one. However that price is just (no challenging the curse filter - But I agree! :) cphilip) ridiculous! My JT jersey wasn't that expensive with custom embroidering. How do you expect me to cough up $100USD($150+CDN) for something like that? Sorry man I can't do it!

I really don't expect you too. I simply emailed the guy that made that JT jersey, sent him the picture and asked him how much for 100 of these. Added a very little for taxes and shipping and asked what people think. This is a short run price like if you wanted custom team jerseys. If we ordered 3000 of them I am sure the price goes down. I just thought it was interesting and wondered what would you pay and do you really need that nice of a Jersey??

I would pay sixty bucks or so for one. I wouldnt mind just a micromesh shortsleeve jersey I could wear before games, then I would put on my team jersey! I really appreciate the effort you put in too btw!!! :)

The consensus seems clear, but my thoughts on the matter are in line with most...I wouldn't pay that much for a jersey. Actually, I won't even wear a jersey anymore that has any markings on it other than a number and my name; now those are hard to find.

I will actually talk to my buddy to see what it will cost for a run of shirts like Synreal (I think) posted 1-2 months ago.

I would only consider doing this for pre-orders and if the cost was less than $60 or so.

My friend who does this is quite busy now (HS baseball coach) but should have more time near summer.

$105? Sure, if I was rich and retarded.

Honestly.......You need to have em around $40-$50 to compete with other jerseys......No one really would pay more for the same quality for a jersey when its only 2-3 colors versus other jerseys with higher quality graphics.

I think that that design is sweet, and definitely the way to go with the AO Jersey, I would definitely buy one that looks like that with my Name and a number on it.

BUT! I wouldn't pay more than 60 for it, tops. 100+ for the jersey and 20 more for lettering is just ludicrous... I could play a heckuvalotta paintball with that kinda dough... or totally retrofit my marker with new parts...

Nice work though!

No, sorry.

I am like the rest... I would THINK about it for $60... $40 sure might pick one up... $30 you bet. $20 I would buy 3 of them. LOL ;)

As was already said... thanks for looking into it, but as you found out... short runs from larger companies are seldom worth it. You want short runs it is best to go with smaller companies or ones specifically set up for them. But no matter how good of a deal you get you will always pay MORE than you should (IMHO), heck we are not talking about a simple t or sweatshirt here.... that is unless you take it out of the country.. like to Korea... ;) And I think that is being done. :D

maybe you could try making them out of a cheaper, lighter material like some kid of mesh, which would be realy nice in the summer time on hot days. i'm prity sure it would proly be a lot cheaper and it would get bought being as most jerserys i've ever looked at were polyester cotton and kinda heavy for summer play.
great design but 100bucks is a lil much.

I'd pay like maybe $30-$45, but thats about my limit. I say Tshirts would be better too! A nice black tshirt with an AO logo or somin :)!

There are really 3 more options I am looking into right now.
1. AO Long sleeved T shirts. This is what I play in most on the time. I wear a Diablo one.
2. Practice hockey jersey. Similar wt. but the design on them is just different. Almost nobody makes a paintball Jersey. But hockey Jerseys are everywhere.
3. You can just replace a the front panel of a Jersey and get it for $65.00. (Hopefully) This is what I will probably look into. I will be working on the design after I get more information.
The option is not to change the fabric or the design down to 2 colors. It only saved 11 dollars. The problem is sublimation (dying the colors into the fabric) is a very expensive process.

Thanks for all the response.
