Since we all like to hear good things about Paintball on TV, and we love to hear good press for AGD.....

WMUR-TV Channel 9 out of Manchester NH, runs a very popular show called NH Chronicle. This show spotlights many things in NH and the general New England area. It runs every weeknight at 7:30. (Yes, I watch almost every weeknight too.) They generally do each week featuring a special location to be the "base" from which they launch each of their stories and "spotlights" from. This last week it was Hampton Beach.....

On 04/25/02 (yup... this past Thursday) they visited Adventure Games Paintball Park in Weare, NH. They are using AGPaintball for their "base" location for all shows starting Monday April 29th and ending Friday May 3rd!

This means that Paintball will be seen on average 6 or 7 times per show... ALL WEEK LONG! It is estimated that over 100,000 people watch the show each night, which makes the exposure very nice topping out at over 500,000 for the week.

And what is even better is that the featured Marker is the E-MAG! Cynthia (AG's Owner) supplied the Hosts with E-Mags for the major shots (THANKS CYNTHIA).

Its always good to hear when the sport we love to play gets a helping hand from the media. All to often, the media is portraying our sport as a war scenario. Our sport gets a bad rap for the obvious reasons; camoflage, guns and shooting other people. All of which aren't exactly accepted by the general public. While we may not deem these legitimate reasons, the public can often fear the unknown. This show is just the thing some of these people need to chase off the stereo type associated with our fine sport. So, to the producers of this show I take my hat off and give them all the credit they deserve for helping get our sport good exposure and clearing up any misconceptions related to the sport of paintball.

Cool! That's exactly the type of exposure that we (paintballers) and AGD need! Maybe some more of us can write to our local TV news affiliates and convince them to do a segment at one of our local fields. I'm up for the task. I'll give it a shot and let AO know how it turns out.

:D

:) Your pretty well known for "correcting" peoples posts(im just jokin with ya:p) The exposure isn't really 500,000 cause it isn't unique viewers. Most of that 100,000 each night are regular viewers and would have already seen it.

Not a flame, just messin' with ya SHartley:D

Thanks for pointing that out. ;)

The exposure isn't really 500,000 cause it isn't unique viewers. Most of that 100,000 each night are regular viewers and would have already seen it.

However….. I think you are confusing WEB stuff with “real world” statistics. :D On the Internet, we count Unique Visitors, however that is usually not the case for TV, Radio, or other such advertising stats. This would also go for things like Billboards as well, where they would estimate the number of vehicles that pass a certain billboard. They do not even try to estimate how many of those vehicles go past it several times per day… see my point?

The reason for this is because only on the Internet can we actually determine those numbers to a relatively accurate degree. And even those numbers are not always totally accurate.

You can also think of it like visitors to an event… if you have 500,000 visitors over a week, but many of them are the SAME people coming back on several days, do you think the numbers will reflect that? Not likely. Again, how the “real world” determines statistics of this nature and how the “web” does, is often much different. You are correct, many of the people watching will be the same (ME for instance), but the EXPOSURE numbers will still be PER show and then multiplied by the number of shows aired. This is also how they determine how valuable commercial time is during those time slots.

It does not matter if the “eyes” viewing the TV at that time are the same ones that did so the night before… just that there ARE “eyes” viewing it. ;) Thus, the Advertising Stats for TV reflect the “exposure” number to be 500,000 or more. And if you read what I actually wrote, you will see that I use BOTH the words “people” AND “exposure”. I said….

It is estimated that over 100,000 people watch the show each night, which makes the exposure very nice topping out at over 500,000 for the week.

And for Mass Media it is the exposure that really matters. And this will definitely be a good one…. :D:D:D

I know you were not flaming me…… I must say, good try messing with me though.. ;) Better luck next time. :D:D:D

(ADDED: Oh, and I want people to understand that this is not a week of re-runs…. Each night is different… but will ALL be "based" from the Paintball Park.)

I believe the castle anthrax they are referring to is in EMR paintball in New England...(PA or something) they have an annual Monty Python and the Holy Grail scenario game, complete with the white rabbit.

Good question! I think it is some chick that keeps calling me when I am trying to drink my first couple of cups of coffee in the morning…. ;)

(Sorry Cynthia, I couldn’t resist. :D)

NOTE: For the rest who have not figured it out. AGNH is “Cynthia”, the owner of Adventure Games Paintball Park in Weare, NH.

Sorry I did not respond.... I don't know if you will get it or not in Maine. The channel is out of Manchester, NH. You would actually know better if you get it than I would.

yes, and no.

They have New Hampshire Chronicle, and Boston Chronicle. Both of which can be seen in MA.

The show we are talking about with Adventure Games Paintball Park and E-Mags all week is the New Hampshire Chronicle. And again, (as stated to another member) only you can determine if you are seeing the correct one.

I am sure you can find out more information by visiting their link (posed in the first post of this thread).

Hope that helps...
