I don't like having all those programs open up when you start up windows. How do I unload them from the windows registry so they don't open on on StartUp? I find they make the computer freeze and slow down.

the safest way to do this is go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information
go to the menu item tools and choose system configuration utility.
click on the startup tab.
uncheck anything you dont want to start up at boot.
this is safe and totally reversable.
also go to start/programs/startup and drag anything in there you dont like into another folder. if you uncheck any boxes in the previous step and reboot you will create a folder start/programs/disabled startup. this is a good place to put items from the startup folder.
also in the system configuration utility there is a tab for the autoexec.bat file. you can uncheck the start= and run= lines if they start anything.

Thanks that is much better than using Registry Editor.
