I was browsing the net and noticed a stock class player whose tubes had a retainer lid. This was a lid that was able to flip off and stay attached to the tube. Anyone know where I could pick those up from. I have been searching the net with no luck. Thanks.

They were called Snap-caps and unfortunately the company is now long dead.

Rumour on Rec.Sport.Paintball said that some manufacturer had picked up the patent but never confirmed. Nobody seems to make them.

Hunt in the "dead things" bins of paintball shops and check out second hand stock gear on the wall. I got lucky and scored about 25 with tubes several years ago. They are slowly dying.

As a home grown alternate, knotted string through cap other end taped to tube works. Not pretty but functional. Other method is to use something elastic vice string so the cap stays on tight but snaps away when you thumb it.

Neither of these are my ideas. Seen on some of the stock players I know because I would not give them any of my Snap-caps. Yeah, I'm a (insert word for illegitimate child here). :)
