i've heard a number of mentions of an auto response trigger system for the automag which hasnt been made in years but it allowed the owner to fire 2 balls for each trigger pull-1 on the pull an 1 on the release.

It also made the pull very very short because it used a cam to operate the on/off

does anyone know anything more about this?

yes, they are not in production anymore. you can find them occasionally on ebay. Cha0s, a guy that used to be around AO alot, used to make them from benchmark frames, but i do not think he does it anymore.

My brother has an autoresponse on his mag. I only played with it a couple of times. From what i remember the trigger pull is very long and easier to short stroke if you dont follow through all the way. That was just my perception of it at the time. (the early 90's) But when my brother could find the right rhythm to it, it was an insane rate of fire. (this was before the electros) Most of the time tho i would hear his mag choke from short stroking...and using Co2 made it all the worst.

did you ever take a look at the inside of the gripframe to see what it looked like, or did you ever find out how it worked?

You can also see a pictoral description of the theory behind how it works in the patent (http://airsoldier.com/~haveblue/tech/patents/5280778.pdf) for the automag (look on page 6)
