Ok, I am thinking about buying a boomy, what length do you recommend? Also, what kinda paint should I use, I use mainly marbs, and those have a great bore match with my current Dye Aluminum.

So anything tips you can hook me up with, would be nice, Thnx in Advance...

Lengths I would recomend depend on how/what you play?

Get a 12" or shorter. Any longer is just added weight and looks sorta stupid(especially on a mag)

10" for speedball is nice, I like to go a little longer for rec play like 14"
I'm doing circles around your 12";)

I use all-stars with my boomy and they fly like darts.

hey, the longer the better!

I'd say 18" or 16" on a Mag since they are shorter.

personally, i like my 14 since i can use it w/ speedball and rec ball. if u have a polished body like me, it look really good, cause it kinda molds w/ the body

Here's a thread that deals with barrel length that you may find useful. :D

you make it sound like it's 3 feet. The reason most people think 18" is too long is because on an Angel or Spyder, notice how the barrel dosn't even start until 3-4 inches away from your trigger. On Mags however, the barrel starts right above your trigger. So why not make up that extra length? It's much easier to shoot more accuratly with a longer barrel.

You make a good point with my stock barrel 11" i only see 7" sticking out of the gun. So if i where to get a 14".... 9" or so would stick out of the gun. I'll havta keep this in mind when i look for a barrel.

all rps paint (marbs, all stars etc.) seems to work very well with boomsticks. all dye barrels unless ortherwise noted are a .685 bore which is what the rps paint works well with. your marbs will match just as well with boomer as with your current dye barrel.

IMO, marb's are the paint of the gods.

try getting one from 888paintball, they were in stock last night. something to keep in mind, the ball needs 8inchs to get up to speep, and anything past that is just guiding the ball, and being to long will ultimatly cause for a gas hog of a barrel, because it's going to take that much more to get the ball down the barrel and out at the right speed, thus making anything over 12-14in a waste, and all those near 2foot barrels are just for newbs to think that using a walking-stick of a barrel is going to be more accurate but instead it just makes for a huge target.

well, i own a 10 inch boomstick, a 16 inch titanium boomstick, a 12 inch cp set, a 14 inch dye aluminum, and a 12 inch longshot. So i have all the barrel lenths covered. Id say that 14 is the most popular, and i wish i had a 14 inch tip for my cp set, because i just like the feel of it. For rec bal and air bal i use 12 inches plus. For hyperball, i use my 10-12 inch barrels. Id say if u dot know, get a 14. They are the most versitle lenths in my mind. i know when my newbie friends ask me this question i say 14, and they never change.

Ok, yeah, i was thinking that myself, now how much of the 14 inch will be out of my gun, and not in the breech?

i have both a 10 and a 16, i usually shoot marbs, with the 16 the balls have no problem going to a gog shoot from the back line off the break. but it sucks when my team makes my fat *** run front line thats why i bought a 10, thats nice couse its still a nasty barrel but it allows me to stay tight
