Hey now. I'm 22 and I still enjoy albums. Especially classical, better and warmer sound quality then a CD.

Anyway, Happy B day Black!

haha. try talking about computers. some kids think i'm joking when i tell them i had a computer with no hard drive whatsoever. it ran off a floppy! and it wasn't even a floppy like they have now. it was a BIG floppy. and it didn't have a monitor it hooked up to a tv. would you believe some kids don't even know what DOS is? try explaining a text based OS to someone who's never seen one.

ok enough reminiscing. happy birthday Black. :)

... the first computer I had didn't even have a disk drive, it had a tape drive. It was a TI 99/4a, and it included the tape drive, state of the art speech synthesizer, and such immortal games as Hunt the Wumpus, Car Wars, and Blasto. Also, anyone remember 8 track players?

Shartley, you won't have to worry about that. ;)

Thanks guys!

Happy B-Day to everyone else!

i vaguely remember the 8-track. i think it's still in the attic. the old commodore was a real pain for me to use. my dad put little post-its with the commands for me to play the games on the sleeves of the floppies. being quite young at the time i didn't understand the syntax so i just memorized them. DOS was so much easier though. i was older and it was simpler. DOS was the greatest thing when my dad first brought home a computer with one. that tape drive sounds like a lot of fun timmee. my dad loves telling me about all the stuff that i learn about in the "history of computing" chapters of my textbooks. he actually learned how to program using punchcards. it's amazing how far we've come since then.
