Remote to on/off question

If i screw the male adapter of my remote to a screw in ON/OFF, should the knob be screwed in (on) or screwed out (off) being that there is no pin to be pushed in like a tank has.

I used to have that same set-up... I dont think it matters.... Its been a while though... :)
