System of a Down is pretty good. They fill you with energy, but without going over the top. Thus you are left with a great store of potential energy to let loose right at the break. I find that if I knid of rock back and forth to the slower parts of Toxicity, I get into a really good zone.

Hmm...interesting question...I'm usually listening to Blues or Jazz while I'm driving to the field. Does it pump me up to play, no, but it keeps me a wake while driving:)

Not that this really is on topic. The one thing I can't stand are indoor fields that feel the need to play really bad music on the worse stero system as loud as they can when you are trying to play.

Hmmm. I never thought about that. I usually just sleep on the way to the field. Although, if I was listening going to listen to something, like said earlier, SOAD would be good. Before my lax game yesterday, I listened to "Blood Red Head on Fire" and "Burgelviest" by Big Dumb Face. It didn't work though, my coach said we (the defense) were asleep the first quarter. Oh well, I was tired. Well, they only scored once on a bad bouncs, so I guess we weren't that bad.

Hard to beat Wagner's Die Valkyre. It would be even better if you were traveling in a Huey. Although, I usually listen to anything before I play. Buckethead, DEVO, Motzart, Paganini, Tool, Laibach, Man... or Astro-Man, etc. It is all the same to me. I usually just take a shot to get the blood going, and the adrenal medulla blasting.

AFI (Can't help but think of Push whenever I hear AFI music).

I'm ashamed to admit this but i listen to "Who Let the Dogs Out?" by the Baha men or any other obnoxious one hit wonder song with a crapy line that get's repeated (i.e. Ice Ice baby, adn Baby got back are good choices for me). It listen to that song for at least an hour on my drive to the field, and by the time I get there I'm ready to shoot anything that moves, because I'm going nucking futs with a stupid song in my head.

old east bay hardcore AFI or newer deathrock AFI?

Temo Vryce
05-16-2002, 09:23 AM
Rammstein, or anything loud and fast. The louder and faster the better. I'm poor bastard that runs for the flag off the snap on my team. It's a lousy job but I don't get beat to middle very often.

Old white zombie, some Ministry, anything angry. Also have an old NYHC cd and an old "boston not LA" tape...for those uninitiated...that is real old school hardcore music.

I've recently burned a mixed CD with the appropriate music for a high spirited game. The songlist goes like this:

-Apocalyptica - Hall of the Mountian King
-Tool - Parabol
-Tool - Parabola
-Tool - Ticks and Leeches
-Saliva - Click, Click, Boom
-Korn - Here to Stay
-Sepultura - Refuse, Resist
-Slipknot - Heretic Anthem
-Pantera - @#$%ing Hostile

After that, I feel like ripping out someone's heart with my teeth, which is just about perfect before I hit the field.

Good God, I have some anger management issues, don't I?

I am more of a lurker (as you can see from my date vs. posts) but I really can't believe some bands have been left out. DROPKICK MURPHYS! I mean really how could you leave them out:) Real Mckenzies, Ten Foot Pole, Bad Religion Bouncing Souls, hell even a little Big Bad Voodoo Daddies if your feeling kinda classy. Just thought I'd throw that out there. O yeah, and all you guys who said that you like anything loud and fast should go and buy a couple of the Punk-o-rama cds there like 4 bucks and have like 25 mixed band songs each. There are like six or seven of them.

Mozart or Brahms.

For sheer emotional content old world classical just can't be beat. I love it because with there being words you can concentrate on the music and how it fills you and lifts you.

Juno Reactor! Every time I listen to them I want to play. They are hard techno, they use some of the coolest instruments I've ever heard! Pistolero is my theme song!

Can't go wrong with punk, though. AFI is great, but Strung Out is the best! I can't believe noone has mentioned them! Could it be that they are...
UNDERGROUND?
