Alright having heard tidbits of info here and there I will begin to speculate about LVL 10.

Given the info reduced bolt pressure...

Ability to be retrofitted...

Similar performance to older mags...

To acheive these goals this is what would have to be done.

To reduce the bolt pressure we would reduce the diameter of the PT piston. Normally this would require the replacement of the PT to fit the new diameter of the piston.

However if you put o-rings in the powertube that seal against the stem of the powertube the ID of the original powertube can be used yet it will still effectively reduce bolt pressure. The o-rings act as bushings in which the new bolt PT piston will ride on. On top of that they provide a positive seal.

Now either the PT tip needs to be changed or the spring needs to be changed to compensate for the change in bolt pressure and flow. A new PT tip with a sharper taper will reduce dwell and reduce any blowback problems. However this has the negative effect of increasing behind the ball pressure.

A new spring will go with the bolt to compensate for the reduced bolt pressure.

On top of that the new bolts will have tapered or rounded tips which coincide with the research survey that tom did a while back...

Ingeneous...

The only problem I see is the wear of the PT o-rings.

How is my hypothysis? How close am I?
