ok i just called Tom and spoke to him about the gnomes mallet idea. if you dont know what it is, it is the myth that a gnome lives inside your automag and makes all the balls fly straight. well after combining my idea and his ideas we sort of came up with this. what i want to know is if you would but it...

some one will draw up a small picture of a gnome and AGD will imprint it on the back of the bolt so that it will have "greater VooDoo 'like accuraccy";) the bolt will be made for ONLY members of AO, there will only be a few made and probably only for people who request it ahead of time.

So how does AO like this idea and who would want there level 10 mod to come with the "gnomes mallet" bolt design

Special Thanks to FooTemps for comming up with the name (sorry i forgot you)

05-17-2002, 06:01 PM
im kinda indifferent on the subject. if its in the gun what is the point if no one can see it. would it be cool? yes because its something special. lets put it this way if it weren't alot extra i would consider it. 20 dollars more no unless it said snooky on it.

How would you put on the picture or engraving on the back of the bolt? Maybe we should also put the person's serial number of the mag so no one can take it...and maybe also possibly their AO knickname :)

I would think that doing a custom job for every individual (with your nickname on the back of the bolt) would get rather pricey and cause some pretty big delays. If not, then I think it would be pretty cool. But I just dont think it is feasible.

Well I'm thinking if there are only a few of them out, they my as well be special :D

You are right though, it probably would be costly...Just depends HOW costly

AcemanPB

you never really see the bolt.....

I don't know if I would buy into it. Granted, it's a cool feature but like others have said, no one would see it unless you took it out and showed it to them. Also, I'm sure it would add to the cost because of the extra process it goes through. Granted, I'm not sure how much that would be but I guess that's dependent on how difficult it is to do.

I think for me, the personalization of someone's marker is how they set it up, visually as well as functionality. That to me would set my marker apart from other people's Mags.

Not that I'm being an old man...I am though ha!...but a small detail like that wouldn't do much except for the person who knows about it.

Great idea, but like I said, I don't think I'd bite. I think I'd just end up ordering the standard Level 10 upgrade.

BTAutoMag

well it would give us bragging rights above all things. and yes it would set your mag apart from the rest. something ive been trying to do since i started customizing mine. its just a fun superstition and an AO inside joke. if you dont get the joke go to the historic forum and search for elf or gnome

Yeah, will there be an extra charge? Wait, who am I kidding, I'll buy it even if it costs more since I'm a new paintball gizmo junkie in the first place.

I would probably get one. Depending on the price difference from a regular lvl 10.

I would definitly get one. (for collectible purposes) : )
Sounds cool.

05-17-2002, 09:22 PM
Oh yeah, that would be really kool. An AO only item. You cant go wrong with that. I like the idea that the ignorants will think it must be better and die trying to get one. It will offer an opportunity to play with folks.

I would buy one, it would be cool to tell people about the gnome in my marker and then show them.

I'd probably use the standard lvl 10, and then pop the gnomebolt in on tournaments (for extra help ;))

BlueMagRT
05-18-2002, 02:53 PM
i would definetly get one extra charge or not.

I have an extreme e-mag on order. I wanyt it to be exactly what i want no matter how much it costs to put it together.

BTAutoMag
05-18-2002, 09:29 PM
hey Blue can you maybe modify that pic of your guns so that the pictures and descriptions of your guns are stacked instead of longways cause my computer has a hissy fir every time i see it. plus its just a pain to have to scroll over to read;)

Yeah, Gnomes are fine and dandy, but it should be a DWARF!!! Dwarves are always known for being expert blacksmiths, and they are more rugged and ruthless! And they drink Dwarven Ale on top of that! Gnomes just can’t compare!

BTAutoMag
05-20-2002, 07:45 AM
i agree they are very rugged and and a good blacksmith but i dont see a dwarf throwing a paintball without breaking it

TheTramp

I voted yes but it would depend on the extra cost.

According to JRR Tolkien ... Gnomes are the cousins of Dwarves who aren't as rugged or greedy and generally live the life of a man (they are really good in science, so to say). This makes them experts in the ballistic (war) region of science. I would definitely say Gnomes are a proper choice :)

*Sigh* too much Lord of the Rings ...

*Chino Gear*
05-20-2002, 05:02 PM
Yes, yes, they are more scientific, but Dwarves are still more rugged! I dont see very many Gnomes charging into the heat of battle! Yes, I will admit, I probably wont win this argument, but I'm just not a Gnome fan, Dwarves forever! Right WarCzar? Hahah, how where'd my Ale go!?!?!?
