Welp,

I finally got the pictures cropped and resized. Here she is! All restored. I'm working on a webpage showing the full body-on restoration. My dad and I did all the work ourselves. She was about 98% original to begin with. Only needed cosmetic stuff. All numbers match and all mechanical components (alternator, water pump, brake master cynlinder etc.) are originals. This is the 3rd oldest 67 427 known to exist. Most of the stuff is date stamped 66. This car was done in September of 67 and they only began production of them in August. Cant beat that!! :) Enjoy fellow car nuts!

Nice work! If you're looking for another 'vette project, my brother is selling his '60, which needs a full frame-off resto. It's been in my family since it was new (originally my mom's car). Hasn't been run in close to 30 years. Just left in the garage to sit and be lonely:(

The split window option was only available in '63. Nice car. I take it your dad is exceedingly reluctant to give you the keys.

hes lying, the lawn isn't mowed because he lives in south jersey, and you aren't allowed to mow your lawn down there. Long grass covers the cinderblocks of the cars up on blocks in peoples front lawns... :) j/k

Cool to see you finally got if finished. I agree if would look sweeter with a gloss paintjob, but its your car :)

is that a 435 horse? Or is it a 425?

Mango

As it says in my post, its a 427ci 435hp Big Block. :) But chevy always underrated thier engines big time.

Thordic: The paint is original Enamal with a clear coat finish. National Corvette Restoration Society (NCRS) allows original paintbal with a protective clear coat finish. The original cars were painted with Enamal, so we painted this with Enamal. :)

oh yeah anyone looking for a stock 62 front end????? my uncle is going to get a rack and pinion so he want's some money towards the 4000 dollar rack and pinion

oh yeah is there anything wrong with the steering box on the vette??? does it leak at all because my uncle said 64-68 had problems like that and was wondering if your's did and did you rebuild it if so????

Mango
06-02-2002, 06:21 PM
im sure your uncles is sweet. No problems with the steering box. In fact, what steering box? It's manual steering. And why is he getting a 4000 rack and pinion system? I guess he dosent want to keep it original.

well the front end on his needs some work and him having a bad back being almost 50 and having a pacemaker he doesn't have the patience for it so guess you can understand he is happy that we were able to get the front end out with out much of his help and yeah there is a steering box look right near the steering arms what they connect to there should be your steering box.
