I'm thinking of possibly looking for a new gun that is extremely consistent, and therefore, more accurate shot after shot. So, from your experience, what gun have you found to be the most consistent? This does not mean just chrono because some guns can be chronoed very well, but shoot far less consistent out on the field. Also please mention the setup, such as regs, air, etc...

I will start by saying my mag with the AIR valve (before I just got retro). My mag with the 2 valves is the only gun i've ever shot, but using AIR valve was most consistent I've gotten. I could get +/-4 at the chrono, and it was pretty darn consistent out on the field. So, what about you?????

People who use Mags with Air America HPA systems can go +/- 2 at a Chrono. I wonder what it would be on a WDP Angel Air. Dont know much about the angel air though, but I assume it would be better.

Most consistent marker I've shot was my BBT Typhoon. This is a fairly unusual Typhoon with a removable barrel, but I had Palmer's make me a standard Typoon barrel. I also ran a Stabilizer on it.

With that gun I could get +/- 3fps over the chrono with CO2!
I never checked that with HPA.

In the field this is the most dead-on gun I've ever played with. A little heavy but points like a champ. Very good on a variety of paints due to the wedge-it. Very reliable - I had the Rock go out on me once and they fixed it for free.

The only reason I don't have that gun any more was that even though is was very reliable, when it DID go down, I pretty much had to ship it to CA. That was a pain. I found the Mag's simplicity and reliability more to my liking. Still I hung on to the Phoon and played with it until my boy came of age - he really couldn't deal with the trigger at the age of 8 - so I sold it and bought him a Mag.

I often pine for a Phoon custcom built to my specs - All Nickle, Verticle Stab, bottom-line plates, sight hood. If I only had a few hundred to kick around!

Nice gun - kind of a specialty item though.

I have found my freeflow to be extremly consistant gettin +/-2 or so on the chorny. I would imainage that the new freeflows are even better since mine is a 99.

My Sovereign II, it did 5 297's in a row out of the box on air...

It's often within +/- 2fps.

I just sold it :( ... to make way for my E-mag :)

My SFL on the my Centerflag Dynaflow is usually within +/- 3. Best I've had yet.

Hey Manike, long time no hear. Still coming to Shatnerball? You're not on the official list at the top of the page, if you are. We can't have that, can we?

I've been in New York for the Big Game and then Amsterdam last weekend for the Millenium series (you will be able to read about both on Warpig.com)

Other than that I am obscenely busy with paintball and real life work. I am still reading the boards but don't have time to post so much.

JJ, from Spplat, has a ticket for me to attend the Big Game and so far I am absolutely intending to be there, but it does depend on life, work and $$$. Fingers crossed and barring obscenely expensive flights I WILL be there :) I just need 48 hour days at the moment to get everything done that I want to!

my friends Impulse with a new LPR, Max-Flo vertical, and Center Flag Hyper flow gets +/- 0 for about 6-7 shots, then it goes +/- 1-2, with a freak on it and using JT maxim of course, VERY round paint with a PERFECT fit(complements of the FREAK) help ALOT. I shot JT elite throw my 'mag once(in my opinion, the WORST paint ever, yes, worse than BE) and my gun was +/- 15! then i switched to Maxim and it was +/- 4!

good paint and barrel help ALOT.

The best consistency I've seen personally was where my friend used a 68/4500 Flatline on his Angel. +/- 1fps. :D

Ive done 239 239 239 239 on my e-magnum. Ive also done 249 x5 on the same gun.

Im still screwing around with my retromag now.

The trick is using a SHORT barrel that matches your paint perfectly. None of my barrels are over 7 inches effective length. None are over 8 inches overall length.

My first gun was an ICD alley cat. When i got it out of the box it shot 274.4 , 274.4, 274.4 we though the chrono was busted, but we looked and it had three different numbers by the 274.4. The next shot spiked all the way to 275.0....... hehe. On the field I used a smarts parts 14 inch barrel. I could sit and snipe a three inch pattern at about 50 yards. It was sooooo accurate and quiet, compared to the other guns at the field. I could camo down and snipe with it and rarely get noticed. My best friend had the same gun, and we would go to scenario games and just sit back and pick people off.
When i started playing speedball, I went to the micromag for more rof. (I still love my alley cat though)

My Cocker is the most consistant semi I own (+/-3) and my Houdstooth and Sterling STP are probably the most consistant guns I own (+/-1,2). Mind you, this is all on CO2.

I will agree with FatMan, Palmer guns are very consistant. I do not have a Phoon (yet), but the Houndstooth uses the same valve design.

Cocker (Typhocker):
10" Spiral Ported Palmer barrel or 10.5" BOA Snake Bite Barrel
Male Stabalizer
AKA Lighting Bolt
Runs on either 16oz/20oz anti-siphon CO2 or HPA

Houndstooth:
14" Non-Removable, Non-ported barrel
Dual Reg: Male and Female Stabalizers
Runs on 16oz anti-siphon CO2

Sterling STP:
12" Stock (I think thats how long it is) or 10" J&J barrel
No regulator
Runs on either 16oz anti-siphon CO2 or HPA
