I have a big air compressor in my garage and I was wondering if it is possible to use it to fill up my nitro tank (If I got the right adapters and stuff). If anyone knows, please reply. Thanks.

Just look at the gauge. It will need to go up to at least 3500 psi or so (meaning it is capable of filling to around 3000 psi) to effectively fill a tank. Most air compressors only go up to 250 psi.

Yup.. the compressors for scuba stations run in the range of 7-13,000$ :eek: I wish it was that easy.. I'd just fill my scuba tank in my garage.. WOOT!

if you had a low enough pressure gun you could hook it straight up to the gun and fire it. i dont know how consistent it would be though.

Has anybody ever actually used one of these portable compressors? I would like to hear about it. Pro, cons and the like.

Pito, the big tourney's will have a battery of them set up and hosed in to multiple stations. Complete teams can all fill at once.:cool:

those small air compressors take about 10 minutes to fill a tank, only one, a cascade system is necessary to fill fast, if there are any questions about what a cascade system is they are very complicated, id call it a bunch of reserve tanks all trying to push air into your tank at once for a fast fill. large compressor and a nice 2-4 tank cascade system is very expensive i know it wouldnt be worthwhile to buy one unless you did it for a living.

I saw this add that was pretty funny, but I don't remember where. Somebody was selling hand pumps for $150 and claimed they could fill to 3000 psi. Anyway, the next best thing would be to buy a cheap scuba tank for about $300 and fill it off that. It costs about 3 bucks to get one of those filled around here, and you could get several fills off of one, but I think they only go to 3000 psi.
