I just thought of what could be a cool name for new mags that come with the level 10 mods stock...the Automag LX!!! kind of sounds like Mac OS X (Mac OS 10)...i don't know..i may just like the sound of my own voice (or ideas) but i kind of like it!!!

And the golden gun from Perfect Dark... the DY357-LX

I think they should be called "NeoMags" sounds a lot cooler

I think, they should be called: Automag
No extra name ...
Also it has already a extra name: Level10 - thatīs it.

a lvl 7 mag would become a magg lvl 710

and retro valved mag would be a lvl 810

and an emag = guess what a lvl 910

easiest way to describe your marker is by stating lvl, or lvl +10

I think LX is a great idea!

Just to point it out to those that didn't get it.

L = Level
X = Roman numeral for 10.

You could have an Automag LX
A Minimag LX
or an Extreme LX

Works for all.

And you don't need the L7 or L8 bit as demonguy points out since if it's upgraded to LX then it is just Level 10 pure and simple... which obviously encompases any lower level technology. You just know what type of LX it is by the precedent Automag or E-mag etc.

Great name! Give that man a round of applause and a sticker. ;)

L is also roman numeral number 50....

manike
06-17-2002, 09:03 AM
True... but here we'll just make it stand for Level :)

Unless you want to brag about having a '60' version gun :D

hehehe

lx makes it sound like one of the 500 diff versions of spyders imo

The only problem I see with LX, is it's a designation often used for low-end car models in the US, like Corolla's and Civics. Now call it a GX would be better, or even Type-X.

How about dropping the "L" just make it "X"

Automag X
RT X
RT-Pro X
E-Mag X
etc...

:)

It is over used.

Generation X
Degeneration X
X-Games
X-treeme
X-Plosive
OSX
etc.

It's like the using of the letter "Z" to pluralize in order to be more hip (i.e. where my DOGZ at?)

The name of my Marker is getting to long.

"Hello, I play with a Warped Automag RT Pro LXT."

It does sound like the cheesy car naming convention.

"Hello, I drive a Jaguar SJ8 ET+ K"

How about keepin' it simple ... I agree it sounds a lil cliche.

Well..I let everyone comment for a little bit and now i'm going to try and explain a little bit more on why i think the "LX" or even "LXT" would be beneficial to the naming conventions of the mag. I do understand that some of you out there don't like the name..that's fine; but what i did try to do with this new name is to make people who do not know about the mag get the idea that something is new and different about the plain ol' muddy tube, but without confusing them. Ask most non-mag and newbie types what Level 10 is...ask a newbie what sounds cooler to them...a Level 10 Automag or an Automag LX...which btw means the same thing...

The original name in development was level X.

"The powers that be" changed it for whatever reason to Level 10.

There must be some reason.

Let's just rename it the BFG.

RT_Luver

I say they should keep it the same, that way all the "mag haters" wont expect anything "new" and when ever a new pb player that hasn't been convinced of all the mumbo jumbo propaganda decides to by a mag, they get a great suprise.

well incase you dont know...in roman numerals X means 10.... I'm guessing thats the reason...but I could be wrong

Um... Yes I realize that. I mean there must be some reason Tom decided to change from Level X to Level 10.

I think it should just be called the Automag Level 10, to a newbie that still sounds like somethign new. ask a spyder owner few know what the tl or alkhfasdjfnb means on thier gun. I like level 10 more because it is original to the mag. where lx soumds like a car naming or spyder

yall are puttin to much into this, its not the be-all end-all mag!it's just the NEXT level not the last level. god only knows where tom will go next.it's an automag (level 10), thats all. its better then the ones that came before, but its not as cool as the ones that will come next!so just let it takes its place inline just like all of its awsome ancestors did, then dream about lvl 11, lvl 12, lvl.......

Just in case some people can't read or don't realize...the LX only means (L)evel X(10)...it's saying the same thing..just a different way...and in case you wondering for all those out there that don't know their Spyder acronyms...TL means Tournament Level..and when it first came out that's what Kingman said in it's ads...the new Tournament Level Spyder TL...so we could have the Level 10 eMAg LX...just like the Super Mag and all the other new stuff...you guys need to think a little more outside the box...if you don't like the name come up with something better...don't just say it's horrible...

BTAutoMag
06-17-2002, 09:36 PM

How about this: A secret symbol! I dunno, like have a big sticker of "#" on your warp or something. People would catch on soon enough that it meant something special. That, or one of those cool vampire symbols from Blade. Those look straight illin'. That, or call it "type 10." I'm just ramblin, I need to get back to studying.

Remember the Mustang LX? That was a bare-bones car that just FLEW!!! In CA, the Highway Patrol used them for interceptors...
