Contact Ft. Campbell's Welfare and Recreation office. They have full use of that MOUT range 2 times a year, which includes a big scenario.
The ladies there should be able to help you, and tell you which command to contact.

Since Ft. Hood's St. Elijah range is right next to the highway, I'm betting some civilian use is, or has been, authorized before. Contact Ft.Hood Range Control to see if it is possible.

Yeah talk to the range contol guys. You might want to talk to Pappy as well, I'm sure he had to deal with some of the same issues when trying to set up the field out at BLORA.

Pappy = Dan = Owner of Black Market Paintball.

Black Market Paintball = Field on FT. Hood(BLORA), field in Killeen, use to have a field in Temple, store in Killeen, and I beleve a field in San Antonio. Ask over on these boards about where/how to contact him http://www.pbubb.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

headcase, did you play paintball while you were there? are there a lot of players on post? since i started this thread i have come to find out that a guy named pappy from blora(field in killeen) tried to get permission to use the mout and he was told no.i was thinking that maybe a large petition headed by somebody with a little rank(who plays paintball)might help open the door.

Yeah I played, but only a couple times on post when I first got there. A guy that worked at the PX figured out how to get us permission to play on some of the training areas(NOT the MOUT)

After that I played at both Constant Action fields, the old Black Market field in Temple, 3PG(Power Plant Paintball Games -- no longer around).

Since I played mostly in Austin, I didn't know all that many military people that played. I have found that the MAJORITY of the military I've played with tend towards the wooded fields, and since I was not into that, I didn't have much contact with the military players.

I'm not suprised that Pappy was turned down, but he does have that BLORA field(which is on military land as far as I know) so he should know who to talk to. Try posting in some of the rec-ball/scenerio boards on PBC/PBN and Warpig to find out info about the games held on Campbell's site. Get the contact info for the woman(?) who runs that, it probably is your best bet.

I really dislike 11Bs-- while I was in Korea I supported 1/503rd INF (AIR ASSAULT) I did a lot of walking as a dismount that year. Fortunately I didn't have to carry that stinger, had a solder to do that for me. :)

alright, here is what i have so far: good contact leads in florida and texas for advice and the petition plan.i was also thinking about a multi-field hosting set-up, so that fields all over texas can register their local players and supply them with paint. this will get lots of fields invlved and the potential income will give them an incentive to push the event forward. i havent thought about co2 and n2 yet. this week im gonna go up to ft hood and find the range marshal and check the waters to get a feel for how they feel about it, suggest a recruiting and pubic relations angle as a benefit to the army.
I'm not suprised that Pappy was turned down headcase, why do you say this, is there a specific problem? i would like to keep this thread going for advise and suggestions so if this all comes together ill make sure free registration is given to ppl with solid advice and such.and just so you know that im not just some sh*ttalker, in '92 i biult a 34000 square foot indoor field on the san francisco peninsula, the first fieldon the peninsula. so keep it comin guys, ill get this figured out!

No not really...........it's just from my experience with the military they aren't going to let their very expensive "playgrounds" be covered with paint without many reassurances that the mess will be cleaned up.

With the right pitch, and the right people behind you, I'm sure it can be done, and done well, but I don't suspect it will be easy or quick.

Good luck to ya

Which is why I suggested to contact the Ft. Campbell Rec & Welfare office. Those ladies know who to contact, and should have either refferences, or which command to talk to. Posts all run the same, so it should be all the same offices to contact.

Oh, try MX Sports www.mxsportz.com . They run many scenarios at MOUT ranges. Contact Mother and get info from her. This is likely your best source for info.

I don't know.

Not much I guess, just babbling about my personal dislike for 11B in a work capacity.

Of course since I am no longer active, I give much love to all Men/Women in the military, because since they are serving, I don't have to.

I really dislike 11Bs hey dont worry we mechanics had an even worse relationship with tankers (19d i think)we called em 'dat's;dumb *ss tankers they could take a multi million dollar machine designed to withstand a direct missile hit and totally screw it up!

I can't recall the 11bs caring one way or the other about the stinger jockeys, we were out to get the engineers and tankers.

I remember basic training... I managed to break the front pin on my M16... the armorer (a angry black woman specialist) started yelling at me... I yelled right back.

:)

Fortunately, she was only a specialist and totally unprepared for a PV2 to yell back at her.

Make sure he goes to the right museum, that place has at least two of everything! Two PXs, Two Commisaries, Two Museums, 3 24hr Shoppettes, at least 4 class six's so on and so on. Going to Korea from there was quite the shock.

No no, I have tons of patches. I want the stickers you can get at the museum. From the main gate, turn left at the Corps headquarters and drive um.. south about 4 blocks? I think... it's been a decade, gimme a break. On the right should be a First Cav museum with tanks outside.

Inside that is a little gift shop with the stickers I'm talking about.

I have many cav patches and such.... but thanks for the offer.
