hit up your local radio shack, a 30 watt iron should run you under $20. if you want to be able to do repairs in the field, they have a butane powered torch to will meet the task nicely ($19.99)

Don't buy a Radioshack soldering iron, the cheap one I've had for a little while is messed up. The tip heated up and bent, and its all loose...POS...

also, home depot or even sears would be able to help ya out, all in the $20 range.

some of the 15 watt radio shack irons are garbage, but http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F005%5F006%5F002%5F003&product%5Fid=64%2D2188 has yet to let me down. (no plug/cord = quick fix in the staging area)

plus you get free carcinogen fumes ;)

bah, just wear a lead jockstrap and you're fine ;)

*edit* uh, wait. fumes.. hmmm... well, save the lead jockstrap for paintball and practice the clintonion "no-inhale" solder method to avoid the reproductive cancer.
