A friend of mine took 96 pics today while playing in my backyard... Well as you'l see it's not an average backyard...
*NEW NEW NEW*
we're playing Wednesday, July 10th at 11 AM. I'd love to have some NJ AOers show up. Fills to 3000psi. Hope to see some of you!

The grass looks like it would be hard to run in. Bit tall. would be fun to do a 5 man team there :)

me again
it only looks narrow because of the shot angle, the kid is lying on the ground so he won't get hit. The field is regulation size for 3 man.
i OWN the 50 :D

you can only do this with a warp my friends

hard to imagine that there were 10 kids there! The rest were cowering behind bunkers so you coudn't get nice shots :D

Me makes a good observation...

Safety precautions are grossly neglected sometimes..
Well, we do have safety netting,

yeah that is a little testy situation

are those green things scube tanks? if so, you wouldn't have to worry bout runnin outta air in the middle of a game...." OH CRAP, my tanks empty!" "NOT a problem, run up to the 50yrd bunker...on field air:D "

Polishpickles451
07-01-2002, 09:46 PM
hahaha that's GREAT

that pic was before we played, we were keeping the tanks in the sun to increase the pressure :D it works too!

you talking about the paint on the bunker when he said "this one gets shot up the most"? i'm assuming that is either marbs or all-star. they have very bright, thick green filling, hard to wash out of clothes also:mad: ...

Bunch of little kids with power toys.... go play soccer like a normal kid.... wait.... i play this to.... to hell with the normal soccer kids.

the bright green is WORR paint, and the yellow is Diablo Midnight. Red was my friend's marbs. And another two kids were using blue team colors, there's not alot of that on that bunker.

okay have we thought about the fact that iots plywood squares stuck in the ground? i dont know about you but i can run right over plywood like that and viola no more bunker pluss the corners look a lil sharp but heay have fun!

the bunkers are cemented in...with CEMENT

if you run and poke yourself on the edge of the bunker then you are just silly

Good job.

I would add though, that I would not say you had that many bunkers….. what constitutes a bunker in my opinion is protection from at LEAST 2 sides. Anything short of that would be an obstacle or a wall. ;) And unless your plywood panels form an L shape or U shape, they would not be a bunker… sorry. But you DO have a lot of walls and obstacles! :D

I am thinking of also putting up a back yard field for my family, and my Son’s friends… as well as a shooting range. Mine will also not be HUGE, but will be lots of fun…. And that is what really matters.

Again, great job. I am sure you will get a lot of use out of it.

yeah it's alot of fun
The only thing you have to take care of is air. Shartley, if you got a scuba place near you then it shouldn't be a problem.

There is a Paintball Store across town, so Air is not a problem. It would give everyone breaks between games (or strings of games depending on how soon people got eliminated). :D

Nope… air is not a big problem. BUT, I may invest in my own setups at some point anyway…… who knows. There are more important things in life at this point. LOL

your right about the +2 side protection of a bunker... BUT his corse is not much for length wise so you dont have to worry that much about getting shot from the side if u pay attention to the game

LOL Hence "bunker". ;) What you said is like someone saying...

"Look at my boat!" and it shows a picture of a car in a puddle. Then someone says "But a boat would need to be able to float in the water." And then someone else comes in and says...

"You are right about the floating in water..... but as you can see, he only has a puddle anyway."

Well.... the fact that the field is so narrow and if you pay attention to your game you will not get shot from the side, does change the fact that they are NOT bunkers. I think you lost me and any point you were trying to make.... LOL

I did not say he NEEDED bunkers, only that what he was calling bunkers were not. ;)

we made a speedball field in the beginning of my woods, there was only a couple trees and we cut down all the brush. Except the lawn mower used to cut that grass is now broke so there's 3 feet of grass. hehe

I consider a bunker anything you hide behind. Like in the air ball fields, those are just shapes you hide behind...bunkers. That's just me :)

Gotta love home fields.

Polishpickles451
07-02-2002, 02:00 PM
i would agree with that.
In speedball at least anything u go behind is a bunker.
In scenerio games these things get more complex and a destinction between bunker and obstacle becomes apparent.

I think we've wondered out into left field..
Nice paintball field BTW! I was going to do tihs..but onfortunately I have an above ground pool (oval) right in the middle of my yard. Parents wouldn't think to highly of me and friends painting up the pool and shed. Oh well...maybeone day I'll have my own fields <-- note the "S"
Peasch!

Since seeing all these pics of cool back yard speedball fields I want one. The only problem is my yard is has a house at the top (I know a house who in there right mind would put a house where you could place a speedball field). Any ideas where i could get some netting for it.

Polishpickles451
07-02-2002, 10:07 PM
as far as the netting...
I went to a junkyard and found the stuff from old trampolies. It's very tough yet see through. Hang it from trees and you got some netting

Hey, we're playing again at my field Wednesday, July 10th at 10 AM. If you live in Jersey and you want to come and play, PM me. It's only $2 for air all day -- It's not for profit I just have to pay for filling the scubas.

if everything you hide behind is a bunker, do you think the ref would let me hide behind him & let me use his shoulder as a prop for my barrel??
