Hi everyone!

I just got to Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait a few days ago. This is cool that they have the net here. Its freakin hot here though, 120f during the day and about 90f at night.

I cant wait to get home and order my Retro and intelliframe! To bad the Middle-east doesnt have paintball. hehe :)

Gotta go
peace

my buddy rob just got back from a year in egypt. he was 6 miles out of gaza. his base was locked down tight most of the time he was there. it was weird seeing the pictures he sent back of the beach all fenced in with barbed and concertina wire.
he is a sargent 1st class and a physical therapist. he was rehabing wounded and in his spare time he was doing alot of mine demo while he was there, findind and desposing of mines and such. he sent back some cool pictures of detonating piles of collected mines, caps and stuff.
good luck and come home soon!

You can't check your hotmail there either.....hmmmm....I thought that they would make exceptions due to the fact that you are halfway across the globe.

Sounds like fun, Hemlock. We get to go to Seeb, Oman--in fact, we just got back from there, but it looks as if we'll be back around the holidays... At least there's a 3 beer a day limit, which is better than none, like at PSAB or Kuwait. Stay cool and have fun. Remember not to tease the TCNs, it's cruel...

(BTW, camel spiders aren't poisonous, contrary to popular belief)

Hey obsolete, what's up? Long time, no talk.

Later dudes.

Hemlock86

3 beers a day would be nice buts not that big of a deal. It just makes it easier for me to get drunk when I get back home. I normally dont mess with the TCN's but I have friends who do. Its kinda funny cause most of them just joke back with you. I just dont the ones who ask you, "You same-same?" hahah Thats asking if yuor gay...arrrrrrrr!

And I know camel spiders arent poisonous, but they are strong enough to bite a pencil in half. Thats good enough to take a chunk of flesh out of ya.

Obsolete and Wingman, want some cubans? hehehe, let me know :D

peace

Your not stupid, it's a military thing. It's a third counrty national. Basically our bases in Kuwait and Saudi need people to do poop work, so they get people from other countries to do the work, i.e. Indians and Pakistanis. This is because true Saudi's and Kuwait's don't work.

Hey deek(wingman) it was a joke on the fact that they are illegal in this country. I wouldn't want to incrimenate myself. Do I have to spell everything out for you? Sorry I forgot my crayons.:(

Also what would your "Bostonian edge" have to do with you not getting a joke. Especially since you lived closer to Providence.

Sounds more like a brown recluse(sp) who injects a toxin that numbs and rots the flesh. Yes, I said rots, as in a big nasty open sore.

At any rate I do think that would be the one that got your friend. A camel spider is like friggn badger.

Woa woa woa i am irish what is this curse!!!!

Well I'll tell ya one thing. It's about your best friend.

nope camel spiders eat the flesh and yes it is, brown recluses were quite comon in ft drum ny though those and black widows we had a lt get bit 7 times in one field problem we called him spiderman, oh and i know it was a camel spider cause i said dude you have aspider on your leg( we was tannin up in the remote site) and it was as big as my wallet, during eib they would catch camel spiders and have em fight each other and scorpions too...

obsolete898

Aranarth,

Its not that bad. Im only on a 45 day TDY and the base sint that bad for being tent city. Its just the 115-125 degrees temps that suck. This is my first TDY since Ive been in the USAF(5 years in), so its a nice break from the norm. And its not like camel spiders are infested everywhere like roaches. Ive been here almost 3 weeks and I havent seen one yet. Plus I can say I served in Kuwait 35 miles away from Iraq, not many people can.
They do play alot of British tv stations over here though. Im starting to like soccer  hehehe. Manchester United is a fun to watch team. They seem to kick everyones butt.

anyways, peace
Ed

Good old 898Muns. No medals and no TDY's. In less than a year you'll be at KB, so there is a bright light at then end of the tunnel.
