I just saw this on ebay and wanted to know what the whole story was behind it:

Here is the ebay link, but I don't think it will be up much longer.

Ebay Link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1841394916&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=0&indexURL=0&rd=1)

Please tell us the story of this gun wise AGD techs. :D

I think that is the panther which was made by AGD in the late 80's. Not 100% sure though.

The guy selling it on ebay stated that AGD sued the company that made this add on for pumps because they used the same parts as the mag. I just thought was interesting because I've never seen one before. Also it went pretty cheap on ebay for such a historic gun.

hmm. Could be an old desert fox but I doubt it. I'm stumped.

I believe that's an "Autoloader" pump conversion to semi-auto. I don't know any more about it, though. Also, unless someone can provide us with a "deap" discussion of it, this thread would probably be better in the main forum -- there's a post going on in there about Automag clones right now.

wild freaking guesses aside... that frame looks to be off of a nelson pump. Probally an old trracer. the body has a fixed barrel, which makes the gun more difficult to dientify. though the feed port is attached the same was as a trracer or hornet feet port is attached.

My guess is that this is an Ferral Industrys (later to become ACI) nelson pumpgun. With some kind of semi-auto kit on it.

It's not mag related.

On another note. the panthers were ONLY prototypes, and were never released. Well... that's not entirely true. I think we shoot P3's :-)

That was a british gun, very few were made.
Scorpion pump gun manufacturers decided to sell a conversion kit (which were becoming popular with pumps, there were tons of failed kits) to turn their pump into a blow foreward.

It was the Scorpion AutoLoader.

AGD did not sue. They undercut their prices and quickly threw the autoloader into oblivion.

Have Blue bought it, and for good reason. They're rare as all hell, and quite a conversation piece. They're clunky and unreliable, but at 150 HB got a good deal.

He also mentioned he'd be scanning pics and the manual into .pdf i believe, for historical reference.

That gun may be brittish... but IIRC the automag "clone" really was a clone. Like you could part for part swap peices. so... I think we have some stories crossed up.

Dang now I wish I would have bid on it. I thought the guy just made it in his garage and then said it was a Mag clone. Thanks for all the info guys.

The gun arrived into my hands today. As theiug mentioned, $150 is a great deal, in my opinion - the only other Autoloader I've ever seen was the one Tom Kaye had at the tech training last November.

From what I understand, the Autloader was sold by Kenimex (http://www.tyresdirect.org.uk/) as both an upgrade kit to their Scorpion pump (http://www.tyresdirect.org.uk/paintball.htm) as well as a complete gun.

I haven't yet gassed up the gun or snapped any photos of it, but I have scanned in the manual and have posted it here: http://airsoldier.com/~haveblue/tech/autoloader/autoloader.pdf

Wow, that cutaway...
hehe, I can see why Tom woulda been less than pleased. Odd reg placement. Seems a bit out of place.

My favorite quote is on the now popular thing to do... putting your finger in the tube and pulling the trigger...

What I was trying to say, is that this ISN'T an automag clone.

Correct - the Scorpion Autoloader is not an Automag clone. It's operation is just like that of a Mag, but parts are not interchangable.

The Colonial was, however, a true Mag clone with interchangable parts.

What I want to know is if the trigger pull is like a Tracer pump or a mag. Like does the trigger have springs to pull it back into place? If so that might be an idea for a more reactive trigger on normal Mags.

The trigger pull is like a Mag, but stiffer (I haven't measured anything yet, but I think the distance from the sear pivot to the on/off pin is greater in the Autoloader than in the Mag).

No springs to return the trigger - just the downward pressure from the on/off pin.

Here's the on/off:

Note that the pin isn't polished or chromed - a far cry from an AGD piece. There also isn't a urethane o-ring in sight.

And here's the front end:

Note that the bolt and bolt spring are captive - I'm guessing the bolt unscrews, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
