AGD Pride takes 1st place at CPSA Tourny! (Lots of Pics)

Out of 14 teams that played in the Amauter division, Team AGD Pride took 1st place! :D

It was probably the hottest day of the year, with the heat index at 110 deg by mid-afternoon, but it was still a great day to go ballin'.

In the Prelims, the teams that we played were Opposing Force, Bad to the Bone, Picasso's Riot, Groundfire, and Psycho Circus. We won the first 4 games ad dropped the last one to Circus.

In the finals, from 1st - 4th, were BAM, Psycho Circus, DV8, and AGD Pride.

Our first game was against BAM and needless to say we dropped that one hard. BAM scored a perfect Max against us with 100pts and it looked grim for the rest of the finals. However, BAM later went on to lose to DV8 which began to open the door for us to move up in the rankings.

Our second game was against Psycho Circus and unlike our first meeting in the pre-lims, we played a great game and maxed 'em. After this, BAM lost again to Circus and this put us in control of our own destiny. If we win the next game versus DV8, we go home with 1st place!

Our final game versus DV8 was great. Both teams needed to win in order to get 1st. DV8 made some great moves and bunkered Skirts out of the snake. Allen & I managed to play tight and keep their attention while Todd went on a rampage and shot out 3 of their players. We got the pull and the hang and most importantly, 1st Place! :D

This was probably one of our best tournaments that we've ever played as a team. Our communication was excellent, we executed extremely well, and we did what we had to do in order to win the tournament.

I want to say thanks to Troy of Diablo for giving us a ride down to the field and for letting us ride his scooter after the tournament :p and to all the folks that came out to cheer us on.

All in all, although it was brutally hot, it was still a great days worth of paintball.

Last one, a pic of the field. You can get a good idea of the layout. This was probably one of the best field setup's we've ever played on. There were no dead spots and ever bunker was being used. It was very fun to play on. Good job to Friendly Fire!

COOl! Congrats guys. I have noticed a tendency for the teams starting slow to finish better a lot of times. Wonder if that is not an advantage to some degree and makes you loosen up when your kinda behind and got nothing to do but go up. It is odd though. Notice the team that maxed first two and finishes fourth!

Your correct Manike, the CPSA (Chicago Paintball Sports Association) is for Amatuer and Novice teams only. You can check out their website at www.cpsa.cc for more details about the series.

Yeah we are playing IAO. I'd like to also say they had this water tent that sprayed a mist at you and it was one of the greats things in the world. We were in there 2-3 times after every game. I had alot of fun at this tourny. The field was great and like Scooter said no bunker went unplayed. Sorry this message sound like a bunch of stuff thrown together but lack of sleep and being so tired I can't think to staight right now. :confused:

Congrats guys. They played very well. Damage 54, damage13, and my self(the guy in the red shirt) were some of the refs that were out there. This was a very long and HOT day. Not to metion we got stuck reffing ALL DAY since everyone else bailed. The sup air field was awsome. Hope to see more like it!! Congrats again guys.

yeah yeah, i got bunkered one game.

what scooter failed to mention is that i did my share of bunkering yesterday. i think i was averaging 3 kills a game and was just wrecking guys from the snake.

This tournament, although extremely hot, was a lot of fun. The field played really well, and the guns worked unbelievably!! I have to give credit to the refs for doing a good job and somehow surviving that crazy heat all day. Our play felt solid all day and our communication was outstanding.

Look for a great finish at the IAO ‘cuz we ain’t stoppin’ here!!!
