does anyone know if the redesigned teardrop is any more accurate than the old model? i was interested in getting one, but i saw on a barrel comparison chart that it's accuracy results weren't quite as good as some of the other comparably priced barrels (like the bigshot, for instance).

just out of curiosity, i wonder if all of the new smart parts barrels have benefitted from the 2002 redesign.

let me know your thoughts (first hand knowledge preferred, of course).

in theory should accuracy all be the same with a good paint match?
effiency is a different story but accuracy should not differ with paint match

most barrels are made on the same types of equiepment, as far as functionalty goes, hand craftsmanship realy dosne't fit it much cause the cnc equiepment does all the work.

other than a good paint/barrel match, not much can be done in terms of accuracy.

everything else is just for awe.

so does this mean that expensive barrels are a farce? a terminator is just as good as a boomstick, as long as the paint matches? (setting aside air consumption)

as far as accuracy goes.....yes

but you also have to look at craftsmanship, if the barrel is made from shoody material then its not going to shoot well, no matter how well the paint matches

I've found the new Teardrop's to be much higher quality than the old ones, with a much better internal finish.

Accuracy=bushwah. As long as the bore size is identical, any 2 barrels will be equally accurate.

do you have an old teardrop well that isn't "old" to compare it too.

i think that they use the same finish and everything, they just jazzed up the outside a little.

I find them to be ugly but that shouldnt make them inaccurate.:)
