Some things to keep in mind and maybe work on…

Focus points.
Texture similarities.
Sharpness similarities.
Edging effects around imported parts.

And there are a few others, but those would be a good place to focus on….. I know this was all for fun, so good job.

I don't know how to take that.....

So, I will take it light hearted. And I will also state that I was only giving a friendly warning. I have seen threads similar to this go from bad to worse. It is easy to push a little farther each time until the line is stepped across. That was my only point.

Just something to think about.... ;)

Maybe I should photoshop a few pics of bambi (the cartoon, not the other one) to bring balance back to the force.:rolleyes:

Please tell me you are joking. If not…. It would appear that you don’t care who you offend as long as you are having fun.

These things mean a lot on AO. And that does not make those of us who believe in them strongly *prudes* or mean that we don’t ever cut loose, because that could not be farther from the truth. Please understand how hard it can be to keep this place “family oriented”, and how easy it is for things to get out of hand. Many of us have seen this type of thing get out of hand more than once, so showing concern is not an overreaction, or really unjustified.

And if anyone was really coming down on you, you would not get a chance to make comments like those….. you would have been banned. ;)

I hope that better puts things in perspective for you.

Oh, and again, welcome to the “Parent Club”. :D I have a strong feeling that many of your views will be suddenly changing over the upcoming years. ;)

First, thank you for the nice comments regarding my soon to be parenthood.http://www.automags.org/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Second, although it may not be immediately apparent, I actually put alot of thought into the Ron Jeremy photoshop parody (which was deleted by Army). I was careful not to go too far. There are a lot of "R" rated things I could have easily done, but I knew better. There were no obscene gestures, words, or images. No skin. No erogenous zone shot. No explicite positions. It even had a photo of an XMAG refering to it's greatness.

After reading many posts regarding "wang" (i.e. "...Hey Cap, do you want some wang?"), I felt the photoshop I created was consistant with the "wang" usage made by other established members/friends. Regardless of any duel meaning or of what anyone who was "G" minded would assume that to mean, it was an obvious reference to something sexual in nature. Yet their tight rope act was never questioned.:rolleyes:

Duel standards?:confused:

In any event, it's obvious this place has a hair trigger on the deletion button... but that's ok, I accept that.

I like this place and it's communal comradery.:)

We all learn something new everyday... from paintballs to online forum moderation.:D

I'm surprised "Tom Gaye" hasn't been removed yet in that case. Ah well, the whole censorship thing should end here; the moderators should be able to handle everything. Although I agree that they shouldn't have to, in gray areas like this it's their job to say what's appropriate and what's not.

The "G" rated Gestapo? Sounds a lot like a reference somebody made once about "rules nazis" in a completely sarcastic and not too serious sense that was taken the wrong way too. I'd be careful with this. ;)

My thinking was that since Tom shot him with a yellow ball in the preivous pic, I figured that the goop that Domo was gestating in would also be yellow.

...think of the movie, "Aliens".

Also, if I made it too bloody (red), it might be considered "PG-13", or even "R" rated. Which means another round of warnings, editing, and debates about moral ethics from the AO watch groups... ;)

Blade, layer masking is great stuff; I use it all the time. But for time saving's sake the magnetic lasso is the best. Just use that (takes a minute or so for almost anything) than touch up the selection with the other lassos, or with brushes one you have your alpha mask.

Blah blah blah i'm tired it's late, sorry about the incoherence but yeah it helps.

I never use it unless the transitions between colors is obvious. I swear it has a mind of it's own.

I mostly use layer masking, quick mask, and all of the various lassos... :)

That's true, it does have a mind of its own...that's why i basicaly trace with it as though it was the standard lasso and click every five or ten pixels to confirm position of the points. Seems to save me a little time, but yeah it can be a pain...and retouching is needed. Layer masks are my favorite since you can blur the alpha channel as much as you need, and do half transparencies, but NOTHING beats out good old bluescreening....if you've got a bluescreen you can do anything. (I'm more an after effects person than photoshop though.)

lol Actually, the original pic shows Clare about a foot shorter than the two guys. What I did was chop Havoc and the other guy's legs down about a foot so that their all the same height.
