I am interested in buying one, but only three people I know have them. One has an iPod (too $$ for me), and the other two have the original nomad jukeboxes (too little space, freezes, and slow navigation). So, I was wondering if anyone here has one and can tell me about theirs, or has any info about them that would be helpful. I am looking for one under $300, preferably with firewire, and at least 10GB of space. I was looking at the eDigital Treo 10 or 15, the 10 and 20 GB archos jukeboxes, and the Rio Riot (it's over $300, but I found it for $309, so it's close enough). The best prices for all of these I've found have been at shopharmony.com, so if anyone has cheaper prices for any of these, please let me know where to find it. Thanks for your help.

hmmm I bought an old Nomad II a while back and don't use it anymore, frankly I never got used to it (that and never got into biking like I wanted too heh)...I did buy a Aiwa CDCMP3 for my car when it first came out (was like $400!). I've since gotten a new Kenwood MP3 player and don't really need a portable since I don't do much other then drive to work :p

A few friends of mine have that CD player one that looks like an old Discman but can read MP3 encoded CDs..you might want to look at that..

PS Here's (http://www.buy.com/retail/clearance/product.asp?sku=70009278&loc=114) one that might be of interest.

Also check here (http://www.nomadworld.com/products/) for info on the Nomad ones.

Thanks for the advice. However, I already have the Sony mp3 cd player, but 700mb isnt enough for me. Considering that all my available cash is about to go toward an emag, I think i'll just wait for christmas, and have my parents buy me a very nice one out of my price range (ie, iPod)

I own an Archos 6gb hard drive. Here's a link for the player. http://www.bestbuy.com/Detail.asp?m=1581&cat=1588&scat=&e=11030956 If you want it from me, i'd let it go pretty easily, i rarely use it. It was nice with my cd player in my car. I have an aux input on my dash face which i just used to connect my archos to play 6 gigs of music. Very nice for the 19 hour drive to ft. lauderdale for spring break. Send me a PM if you're interested or need more info.

Thanks for the offer, but 6 GB isn't enough space for me. When I finish ripping my CD collection, I'll probably have 10+.

edit - YAY! 600 posts!
