Since i have received like 40 emails for sigs in the past couple days and it take like 20minutes or so per sig that alot of time so if you will email me what you want and be patient i will get to it as soon as i can thankyou

Because you haven't yet been politely asked by a mod to make it smaller.

It's not a case of sigs over 15kb don't show because of server limits it's a case of having smaller sigs out of respect for those on dial up accounts for whom some pages with large sigs take forever to load up.

Yes, for someone just offering to make people signature images you (Seancallahan) seem to not know much about them on AO. I would suggest doing a search and reading about them. Also, this thread would probably be a good candidate for the “Friendly Corner”.

(On a more personal note.. you may want to clean up your signature image, if you are going to copy my AO Sig Image Style at least do it cleanly. ;))

Just one other unwriten rule we have here about sigs is to not use your sig in repeated postings.

It may just be the Gamma settings on my mac at work, but I can't tell if there are letters under that guy or not. I would imagine it says Damage. Just something I saw.

What are the unwritten rules for sigs? What can you use in the way of pictures and where you get them? I see alot with cartoon characters in them, I don't think they got WB's permission to use them in their sigs, so can I do this?

On AO keep them to 10-15kb at most. Keep their actual dimensions reasonable as to not take up too much screen space.

As for where you can get the pictures…. Anywhere. No, WB did not give permission to use their characters. We also do not charge for them, nor make any money off of them in any way shape or form. This could be argued that they are thus being used for personal and non-profit use. Yes, it could also be argued that they are still in copyright violation as well…..

However, the real question as it pertains to AO is whether WB, DC, etc. would want to litigate… and to this I say… slim chance. As long as people remain reasonable in their use, and keep it all FREE, there should not be any problems.

NOTE: This is the simplistic answer. But I hope it helps answer your questions.

I remember the days when I made custom Sigs for people... I made like 20 or something... I think they were alittle better than urs though =D... anyway man nice job on the image transparencys, (unless there not). Its a hard task to give free sigs cuz no one understands its mad hard to make 20 of them. Especially whne they dont tell you what they want :)
