Hi all, as you guys may be aware, our laws over here are the pits, we cant import semi's or travel overseas without running the risk of having our markers taken off us by customs on our return, We need your help, we want to travel, to get teams to go to the world cup, I want a c&c extreme but I cant import one legally.
Just think of it this way, you cant travel from state to state without permits, you need a gun licence, you need to be 18 years old, some states paintball is totally banned, if you see a marker that you like you cant import it.
Now think about that happening in your country.

Paintball in Australia needs your help. We need to change the Federal Gun Laws that are smothering the growth of Paintball in Australia by prohibiting the importing of Semiautomatic Paintball Markers and Components.
It is also this law that NSW uses as its justification for is no new semi registrations.

What can you do about this?

Simple, just spend 10 minutes of your time and let Daryl Williams the Attorney-General know your opinion on this by sending him an email

Email on daryl.williams.MP@aph.gov.au

Please for the sake of Australian Paintball take 10 minutes out of your busy lives and let them know of your feelings. If enough of us let our feelings known they will change this ill concieved law.

IMPORTANT:

Do not be abusive under any circumstances.
Do not use bad language.
Do not be insulting.
Do ask lots of questions.
Do follow them up if they promise to get back to you.
Do urge everyone you know to do the same.

Please dont send him anything abusive we need numbers not idiots.
Ps: every time America says jump to us we say "how high"

Now it's your turn to return the favor and you may see a few Aussie teams at the next World cup:)

He got one from me as well. Told him I'd get Cheney to add him to the list of "axis of evil" or else.

Just kidding. I was very polite.

I just sent him a REALLY good 3 page essay on why they should allow them (after all, other countries allow them and all it does is help the economy)

Hi lone brain cell,

I don't know how effective it will be to have a bunch of Americans send letters to an Australian politician. That doesn't mean I don't sypathize with your cause. It would probably be work better to have Australian citizens to send letters and organize to get paint guns legalized. My own view of politicians is that most of them are motivated by one thing , staying in office. I'm sure if you have voters in your country sending letters to the government they will be much more responsive.

Good Luck

well the easty way to achive this isnt by telling him how safe paintball is but by getting him to play and see how safe it is, and how fun it is...:D

Isn't there already a law for the misuse of paintball guns? I think its called assault with a deadly weapon. Law makers in aus must be running out of things to ruin because this one makes no sense.

If you want me to I can post this URL on other paintball sites, and even send it to APG. I think you should do that though, send a more detailed and informed article to APG (www.actionpursuitgames.com) about your situation and I think they will publish it. Its really worth a try.
