They should make an upgrade kit that includes the Extreme Body and The Extreme trigger frame (without the board), so you could convert your emag most of the way... (shouldnt include the ace though)

Well if you were not doing the ACE then you realy would not need the Grip frame unless it was for looks...

no, i like that grip frame better

cphilip
08-29-2002, 10:49 AM
Its the same grip frame as is used now on all emags and was used on all colored ones...Only differnece is tha tlack of the little hump on the back and they milled out some of it to place the ACE.

no... if you look at it it goes straight down at an angle... the stock emag one has a bump on the bottom

cphilip
08-29-2002, 10:51 AM
Yes but ALL emags now do not have that hump nor did my colored one...They have stopped using the humped one anyway. But i see your point you want it changed and it is..Youc an buy that non hump grip right now for like $135

agdemagman69
08-29-2002, 10:52 AM
really? i just bought an emag and it has the hump... damn

cphilip
08-29-2002, 10:53 AM
it DID...but no longer will. It is changing. All the older colored ones have the no hump and new black ones will also...just takes time.

agdemagman69
08-29-2002, 10:54 AM
cool... will i be able to buy a new grip frame?

cphilip
08-29-2002, 10:55 AM
You can buy one now I think! Gonna cost ya though!

agdemagman69
08-29-2002, 10:56 AM
any idea how much?

cphilip
08-29-2002, 11:03 AM
Well like $135-150? Not sure. Email Marcia and she probably can tell you for sure ask for the ULE emag grip frame...

I like the hump fine myself I see no problem with it realy. Wouldn't see the cost benifit for that. But its up to you. It is a tad lighter. Not enough to be worth that though.

good point.. but what about the extreme bodies?

cphilip
08-29-2002, 11:06 AM
Well none of them are availble now. Too few of them to even think about them selling them as bodies only. The preorder on complete markers is way high. Maybe next spring there will be. And all you will need is that if you do not want ACE. You lose your rail and slap it on is all. Gonna have to wait till they make some black ones to match your marker too.

yeah

I got one for 135 + shipping, and as soon as an extreme upgrade somes out I'm gettin it. i just wish i knew if Emagnum owners could get ACE or not

cphilip

Emagster are you sure the one you got has been milled to accept the ACE board? It now sits in a milled out area of the grip frame. Just becuase you got the ULE grip does not mean its been milled out for the ACE board. Would love to know but I cannot see yours so I cannot say of certain. That Grip is an existing grip that is modified for the mounting of the ACE board on the Extremes. Take a picture of it from the top where the rail sits on and we can see for you.

I can check on that ACE hook up of the Emagnum...but if I remember it indeed does have a place to plug it in.

if u buy the ULE grip does it come with the board too?

cphilip
08-29-2002, 02:51 PM
No...that is a seperate item. The board in the X looked the same as the emag to me though. Just wired up a tiny bit different to power the ACE board which is the additional board up in the grip frame that holds the ACE and the on off switch. And the main board has a different firm whare flash. Burst mode gone and in its place is delay for ACE. In fact one of the places off the board where the new ACE boards wires come off from is the old burst mode jumper

CPhillip, do you have any idea if AGD is going to be selling the extreme bodies that will fit non emag frames like the inteli? I really like the extremes but still like my retro valve and have no urge to go electro and if they were going to put out an extreme body that would fit the inteli-frame that would be really cool. I also know that i wouldn't be able to have ACE but don't really care.

i'll probably get one of those grip frames... can you get them in colors?

cphilip
08-29-2002, 03:02 PM
I have no idea... But remember that one of the things on Toms list is a total remake of the Classic Automag. I would venture to guess something like this would be the direction he might go. But it will take a different body to do that. And I bet in a year he may be moving on that. Maybe even next year.

I do not think any colors. Most likely Black and Raw. They have not sent out any color stuff in some time and only to do complete markers when they did as they have to match. Raw is the way to go and have it annoed and or powder coated if you want colors.

agdemagman69

a remake, like a total internal or external? or both?

cphilip
08-29-2002, 03:21 PM
Probably not all of it. The body and maybe Aluminum Valves but you sure do not want to change much in the best Valve on the market! Why would you?

Mostly cosmetic and weight I bet.

agdemagman69

the original automag? those do look pretty dull, they could use a new look

agdemagman69

can you put stickies on that grip frame?

Emagster
08-29-2002, 06:32 PM
cphillip...I dont know right now, I'll get a picture of the top of the frame when i get i. I got a letter from Tuna sayin that the frame is a ULE frame and that it is slated for the extremes. I dont know what he meant by slated but I'm guessing it means it'll fit the ACE, anyone know for sure?

cphilip
08-29-2002, 06:49 PM
Ok well I am curious too. We probably gonna have to wait and see.

magman007

hmm slated prolly means the same frame going on to the extremes, as they are.

the classic changes... I'm thinking a change of the barrel threads, different screw set up of the grips on the stock single trigger frame(one screw to two)... color options on the classic mag body(hey, might be fun)...

...trying to think of other areas that could be improved...

maybe the same chamber set up that the extreme has(warp to vert to classic)... but that's just too much fuss for the classic

oh man... maybe getting some more traction on the power feed(were the elbow grips)... warp feed body?... vertical feed?

can't think of anything else to improve(nothing really needs to be improved, Level 10 is already out)...

Any other ideas?

Y dont people like the twist lock? Twist lock is awsome. It only 10 bucks more, not that much.

well it was most usefull to pull the barrel of and clean it on the field. Most do not do that anymore and straight shot them. And now with lvl 10 even far less. So its a mute point. Now in the extreme its like just treaded to hold the feed module in place is about all. So its not realy an issue anymore...

but if you did break for some reason it would take like a min to take out ur barrel cause of the amount of threading on a cocker barrel

cphilip

Like I said most do not remove they straight shot em...but you are correct. But missed that point I was trying to make. Its mute if you do not try and remove the barrel.
