i'm pretty sure we didnt win anything, as i for one never heard of any missions other than recovering the "relics". most of us AO'ers had a blast despite, and i'd think it safe to say that we racked up the most kills. tom's aggressive strategy for us would have worked had we not been sandwiched between the 2 other teams.

i heard that we were either in 2nd or 3rd place at about 60% done.. shatner's team seemed to be on top of just about everything.

*edit* it officially ended at 4, but i'm pretty sure most AO'ers wont get home for a couple more hours.. i'm interested myself to see who won.

Here's the results as we got them

Federation: 630
Klingons: 500
Borg: 298.5

Seems like everyone had a good time at the event.

Nope, Spazzed... what is body count in terms of paintball? I know what a body count is... but is the meaning different and does that affect the score?

Actually AO placed UNDER Mancow. So technically the one team that had the most experience came in last?
That's bizarre.

Retro, you're right. Body-count is the same as what you're thinking, & unfortunately, it didn't count :-/ If so, we'd have won, easily.

As Xen said, our team really wasn't playing to win. We were playing so everyone else could have a good time. (Layman's terms: We held back ;-) ).

was managment keeping track of eliminations?

it would be nice to see the elimination numbers side by side with the points...

the eliminations were probably just for a tie breaker... but would be nice to know

RobAGD

Well there is no offical count of bodies :)

We were wacking them 5-10 per as a rule, problem was the communaction between strong players and getting missions done. We (AO) were not geared to doing scenario things, were are typically advanced Tourny players and rec players :/

If we had some people helping to run things we would have done much better. It was a bit of a Charley Foxtrot on oour side, but hell I was having too much fun wacking Red shirts :) But I was kinda handicapped as I had to keep leaving to get air :/

i was just saying... Dollack scenarios(if i remember correctly) keep track of eliminations in case of a tie in points

the CO2 users must of enjoyed that (the whole lack sufficient hpa pressure)

I can't believe AO/Borg lost:( :(

I was thinking it wouldn't even be a competition, i was reading some article that said the other teams were gonna have to team up on borg(some paintball site).

O well, i guess i should have gone(then we would have won:D ;) )

this is the one time that i was happy that i cant afford compressed air-- my anti siphon co2/cocker setup worked beautifully.. i lost count of federation guys i tagged

yeah like the other guys say i dont think we had a single scenario veteran with us (at least on the AO squad-- seemed like there were a few "other" guys who were into it) but i dont think there wasnt one of us who didnt have a blast just elim'ing folks and taking that city :)

the play on the tourney fields friday night was coo as well.

Guys,

As it turns out the big points were awarded for finding relics, they were worth 100 points each. In contrast, turning Shatner into "Red Meat" was only worth FIVE points!!!!

We did get missions and did accomplish them, they were only worth half points because we were teamed up with Mancow.

I'll have more details in a longer post.

HeeHee… So I guess “winning” would depend on what your “goal” was. ;):D:D:D

magman007, it's also ironic that you are now posting to stop people from double-sigging in a single thread, when you didn't pick up on that particular piece of etiquette until after your 2000th post. Less than a month ago, your sig was in every one of your posts (I even checked). agdmagman69 doesn't even have 70 posts yet, and you seem to think that he should have caught on to this "common courtesy" by now.

Courtesy is something that people learn over time; it isn't necessarily instinct. Please give people a chance to learn the AO etiquette policies as they post, rather than (almost rudely) point it out to them.

Thanks for your time. :)

http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48636 read my post, it kinda explains how things were tilted in favor of shatner...

centerfire, im not going to argue... but i caught on didnt i? i was trying to point it out. Also, i dont know why it bugs me so much, but he stole another members sig. I look forewards to Skoads imput, and when i see hte sig i think its him, then i read the post and realize it isnt. Oh well, I changed.

During the Klingon/Borg Alliance, in the large battle near the Fed base and the "net wall" Shatner appeared out of the top of the Federation tank! My friend Superman (theme song plays) from the Uninvited shot him promptly, then the "fearless" leader/loser ducked back into the tank. The referees were heard jumping in celebration.

BTW, I had a great time meeting everyone from AO. Living in SC, it's hard to make it to most of the NE events. It was my pleasure to finally meet the following people:
SprayingMango,Spacemanspiff,Thordic,AGDJon,Havoc,M usikman,Xen,CaPoEiRa,LoadSM5,BluemagRT,Pi and of course, Tom Kaye and anyone whom I've forgotten at the moment.

(In case you don't remember me, I'm the dork with the greyish-blue hair and the nitro tank that would not be fixed)
