Like the title says I have a old crossfire reg on a long 68/3000 aluminum tank. Is it possible to switch the screw in deal to another tank.

I think it is, but it would have to be a 3k psi tank. The reg most likely wouldnt work with a 4.5 psi tank.

I'm not sure how you go about doing it though...

If someone could install my crossfire reg on a 68/3k fiber wrapped tank, I'd be quite happy :)

I'd appreciate it too, I'm sort of wondering how much it would cost to replace my 47ci aluminum tank with a 68ci fiber-wrapped...I wonder how much cheaper than a whole new tank+reg that would be

Someone out there has to know! Come help us!

Air American offers reg replacements.

Don't they install their regs on your tank though? I was hoping to move my reg onto a new tank. I don't know any tank manufacturers besides Carlton, although I know there are more. Maybe I'll just look around for tanks and their prices by starting with a Carlton search...

does that mean they'd through my crossfire reg onto a Air America tank? or do they switch the whole thing and I pay the difference? I'm confused. Clarification would be nice.

You have two options:

1. You send your system, working or not (find a broken reg and buy it), with a tank that will pass hydro (they use your tank), it is (approx) 100 for raptor, 230 for 'geddon, 250 for 'apoc.

2. Assuming you have a 'geddon, you send your tank, they put the neck on it for 100. That's because 'geddon is a screw-in bolt on combo for those of you not familiar with it.

See I don't want this bottle anymore. The reg is ok but I don't want the long bottle. (It was manufactured in 12/96 and is about as long as a 114) Anyone know where I can find a new bottle to through this 3000 reg onto it?

Other than perhaps the rupture disc or a reg spring, what components of the regulator itself make it incapable of handling a higher pressure? Would these specific components be able to be swapped with those that would handle the pressure? Most regs that I have seen seem rather simple, and I cannot think of why they shouldn't be able to handle a higher pressure with anything more than a few simple, and inexpensive, parts.

If you have the tank, and you have the reg, you can take them both to an airsmith and he/she will assemble it so it works. Same thing goes with dissassembling.
