I have a p/f classic. I would like to make my gun as consistent as possible. What do you use?

I also would like to know how you set up the hoses on your marker. I want set my hoses up so they are attractive, low profile and out of the way. If possible, please post a pic or a link to a pic.

Thank you for your time!!!

I've never really achieved great consistancy with a mag so I'm not gonna chime in with a good setup.

However the best way to get hoses out of the way is a small drop forward, a gas through forgrip, macroline from ASA to forgrip, and then any other hose from Gun ASA to valve. You will have to take that off whenever you take out valve, so something releasable is key.

I have a 68/4500 crossfire that works fine. Here's a picture of my gun - I'd like to shorten the hoses somewhat, but this keeps them out of the way:

The hose to the drop aggravates me, but I can't figure out a better way of doing it.

Consistency is about +/-10 right now.. I'm working on that :)

Hey Shirow-- what kind of ASA do you have on your cradle there? I'm lookin to get an asa w/ on/off, but haven't really been able to find one.

An NW one - it came with the cradle. Cost me about $50 total (for both.) It works pretty well, as far as on/offs go :)

Well... for the tenth time in a row..I flatlined the chrono where I play at..everyshot of about 15 over the chrono was 274. No change at all..everyone of them came at 274. Everyone at the field was like..man is there something wrong with this chrono? LOL I was like..no nothing wrong..just a mag ;) here's my setup.

<img src=http://bellsouthpwp.net/1/b/1badandy/pictures/mag/newmag8.jpg>

There's now a de-gas valve/QD directly on the valve.. but other than that...it's the same route.

What did you do to get it so consistent? I've done everything I can and I'm still no better than +/-5 on a good day. Maybe having a retro valve would help, I'm still using a classic.

Here is mine as it currently is. I am going to change it to look more like FrAuStY's, with ss hose instead. I too have wondered if the chrono was working when two or three shot have the same reading. I rarely vary more that 4 fps (281-285). :D

If you have the time please respond. Thanks

You're going to vary at least +/- 2 fps on the chrono, just because there's no way for it to be perfectly the same every time.

I Agree because paint balls are not that consistant.

What Hps will give me +/-2 fps on my mag?

in your effort to make thinkgs tight, be careful with the bend radius of the hose, different hose is rated to a different radius. aka no sharp bends, just be careful

I used to have a flatline tank. Sold it to Aliens. This was 285, 285, 285, 285, 285, 285... :) Now I have a Crossfire, 68/4500 lp out put, on my Impy's Max flow. NOT consistent at all. Im not sure if its the max flow reg, or the crossfire. I have to do some cleaning out of the max flow, then Ill know for sure.

Let me know what you find, because I have a 68/4500 crossfire HP out and can't get it any better than around +/-10.

I am starting to get the idea that the Flatline is the way to go for consistency. Where might I find a new 68/4500 flatline for cheep? The reason I say new is because I want to put off hydroing as long as I can.

Is there anyone out there who is getting high consistency with something other than a Flatline? (In the same price range or cheaper)

Thank you for your time!!!

Good luck finding a Flatline at all, let alone for cheap.. :(

my setup is in my sig. I usually get + or - 5. i wonder if the pressure you run into your gun has anything to do with it?

shouldnt affect it unless your running it really high

anyway heres a pic of my setup and seems to be pretty consistant(dont have a chrono on me so i cant say its the best or anything but when ive tested it at my friends it was working good)

Shirow, whats the deal with your trigger guard? Looks bent in for some reason?

Shirow
09-18-2002, 04:24 PM
yeah, it does, doesn't it? I never really noticed that. Maybe intelliframes come that way, or maybe I just got a screwed up one :p Actually, I think it's just a combination of glare, a very bad camera and a white background that makes it look that way.

Are Flatlines really popular? Is that why they are hard to find?

Shirow
09-18-2002, 04:38 PM
No, just not very many of them made, unfortunately.

Emagster

well, the reason you cant find 3k is because they are discontinued, and the reason you dont see TOO many 4.5k is because...well their gettin around

they are discontinued:eek:

btw i looked at my intelliframe and really does have that 'dent' in it. it looks like it was intentionally made that way, maybe some batch was made in that shape???

Telefragged

The new Intelliframes are made like that to give better foregrip clearance. The frame on my RTP is like that as well. Attached is my setup. I'm running a 68/4500 Armageddon, AGD Quick-Disconnects through a 13" steel hose into the valve. Last time I was at the field, I got +/- 1 for a string of like 8 shots... pretty good if you ask me.

How consistent does a gun have to be? When do you begin to notice it affecting your accuracy? +/-5? +/-10? +/-2?

Shirow

Oh, that's good to know Telefragged - thanks! At least I know someone didn't stomp on my Intelli ;)
