A. Which type of paintball FIRST comes to your mind?

B. Which type of paintball do you find the most FUN?

(you can only select 1 choice: 1,2,3)

For me...

Question A: 1
Question B: 2

2, 2. i Think the speedball type of play looses something. I've never played scenario, but it does sound interesting.

Edit: I stared playing in 1985 (or there abouts).

I think 2,2.

I started playing in the early 90's. Just out of curiosity, when you answer the question, post when you started. I'd like to see if there is any correlation.

I love playing any of the three, but scenario games are the most fun for me. Just being on the field with huge amounts of people is awesome. My first one was Smuggler's Blues 7 at Hit and Run Paintball Texas. Which also was my first day with my Emag :)

I've played them all and I find that I have a lot more fun playing speedball :)

I've played all three types over the span of almost ten years. My answers would be:

Question 1: 1
Question 2: 2

Speedball is a great time, but woodsball or buildings is just fantastic. A field over by me used to have an old house they cleared out on the inside and we would run DEA house sweeps...it was a blast.

Ouch! A lot of point blank shots at 285+ bps is scary:eek: BUT THRILLING!

SC Village in SoCal has "Beirut" which is always a favorite!

But I know that 1 is a great game as well... just a different style.

Number 3 is, however, in a category all its own. Yes it is Paintball, but it is Paintball like playing Football with Halloween Costumes on and adding funny rules would still be Football. ;)

I like them all, depending on my mood. Speedball is fun as hell, but at Paintball Sams they also have a great 'nicuragua' field - creeping through the woods can be a hell of a lot of fun too. I don't think I prefer one over the other.

LOL - true.

Reminds me of that movie American Pie, where the girl starts describing what band camp is like.

Started playing a couple of years ago. I like speedball versus Postage Stamp Style Woods ball (like you find on a typical field). Nothing is as great to me, however, then woods ball on a huge field. Have to admit I am equally bad at all forms of paintball, however:)

Been playing ten years total. I love the adrenaline rush of of speedball. The initial rush of the break always makes me come back for more. Then the mode of spray a ton of paint and make someone wish they were on your team sets in and it's back to work.

i think of recball first but enjoy speedball more*..

****I should mention, however that I like the OLD OLD school way best (stock class, huge fields, capture the flag basically the way the VERY FIRST game was played) unfortunatly noone really plays like this anymore :(

When you say paintball, I picture a guy, maby 17 or so, dressed in a jersy, diving into an airball bunker with hundreds of paintballs flying past his face.
So yea,

Question 1: 2. I started playing in 1982 in the woods, it's some of my fondest memories of the sport.
Question 2: All of the above.

I love all three styles of play, each has it's own unique flavor that I enjoy.

Speedball is a pure rush of excitement, you have to push your limits on a regular basis to really succeed. It forces me to play tight.

Recball is great for a weekend of relaxation and shooting with the friends or family.

Scenario games are awesome for being a part of a huge congregation of players. It's a blast to shape and effect the overall outcome based upon strategic and tactical planning.

dang i think point blank shots at 285+ FPS would hurt alot LESS than 285+ BPS
But dang that would be thrilling to see a gun shoot 285+ bps.
sorry if i over did it.
i would 1,2 never played speedball though

its easy it would just require a 125 barrel chain gun flodded in a constant vaccum sealed pool of 50,000 paintballs. it wouldn't be too expensive to make.......;)

When i hear paintball i just think of greenery and camoflauge, but indoor warehouse paintball is where i first played and that seems to be a bit more fun to me, more adrenalin.

One form of paintball he didn't mention which i am particularly fond of is renegade. What's more fun than going out with a bunch of friends, finding a perfect place to play paintball that hasn't been cleaned up or tailored for paintball play and just tearin' it up (it gives it a really raw feeling). You can pick how many games and how often you play them too, and no field fees, very cool.

I've been playing over 10 years, but only started playing speedball in the past year. Can't go back.

2 / 2 = No doubt in my little mind !

Good debate, and good arguements for each, but it's like anything else in paintball a personal choice, no reason is truely wrong.

Say paintball..I think of a airball course. Some one asks me how you play paintball...I'll describe a airball feild and so on.

Funnest...Just dislike regular rec ball. Do a 10 min capture the flag game or something. Strangely, I love the all day or more games of scenario. Just fun..I don't know.

And speedball just kicks major butt.

2 & 2!!

I've been playing for like 6 years. Started in Rec Ball, ine the woods. I just love crawling and creeping around w/ no one knowing where you are.

For question #2, #3 comes in a close second. I like the smaller woods games a little bit more b/c you have a better idea of who you shoot out and who is still out on the field (Friends and stuff)

I've never played in a scenario game so I look forward to giving that a shot too.

I actually have the same sword as the one guy in the scenario pics

I saw this picture and cringed. :) Reminds me of the terrain I was playing in when I broke my leg.

If I see holes/cliffs/sudden drops... I'm not there. :)

You broke your leg??? dang sorry to hear about that...:(

That field does look hairy.

As far as fields go, what's the BEST REC field you have played on? (post pic please)
