B) WHO VOTED FOR PIE?!?!

I voted for pie, because my attendance depends on whether or not I can obtain backstage passes to Aerosmith/Kid Rock.

Jeff didn't put a maybe, so I picked the next best thing :)

I'm working on Misfit... He may come down, but would want the cheapest way, so he could have money for paint. (Direct quote)

I'm not sure how I'm leaning yet. Plane/Train... Hmmm...

Tell him to take the bus with me then. :) Its buy one get one free basically, so we can split the cost of one fare between 2 people.

I most likely won't know if I can go until last minute. I'm gonna drive down anyway, so I won't affect others travel plans.

Also, why put pie in there if you don't want people to vote for it? :)

Hey all STUDENTS with valid student ID's, or fake ones for that matter. I found student airfare, it is a little more expensive, but for us northern jersey people, its a flight out of Newark.

$237 nonstop from Newark to Greenville

Nov 8 9:35am
3:25pm
6:45pm

Nov 11 6:45am
12:10pm
5:45am

These are from statravel.com, and you must be a student, or be able to fake it like I will be (don't ask me why, but Rutgers gave me an ID valid till 2004. I left there two years ago) Its not exactly cheap, but it seems a lot more convenient than driving.

Because then you get some stupid (I mean uhh) non-tri state person voting. :D

Right from Continental, it was 211 round trip, no transfers. Although that was a couple days ago and the longer you wait the more expensive it gets... personally id REALLY rather not spend 200 for travel, times be tight for poor college students.

im with kaiser bob on this one times are tough for the college student athlete who barely finds time for work.

I checked into flight prices today- a little over a week since we last looked into it- Price has gone up $70. The closer we get, the more expensive it's getting. We need to come to consensus quickly, otherwise it'll be too expensive.

i am really going to have to go with kaiser bob on this. i think if we took the bus id would be cheaper and less of a hassle. dont forget we are riding with markers and tanks. the tanks are a little bit of a hassle but we all know the situation with planes and weapons...

so i vote for bus.

Riotz

I know a bus would be allot cheaper. That's why I mentioned it.

But the way things are shaping right now. It looks like we won't be able to get one... Some people are going to be flying, others will already be down there. We would need at least 20 people to take the bus. 30 would be even better.

IF we don't get a bus, I should have my drivers license by then. So I may just drive down, if I have a car by then. I may be able to borrow my mother's van. It's old though, not sure if it can make the trip. I'll see...

Oh I see.

I'll have to see if I can get enough money to get it into the shop by then. If you came to any of the NJ AO Day you might have seen it. The big blue-green one.

I can probally take 4-5 people in that, plus equipment. We could all chip in on gas, etc. I will keep you posted.

Still trying to sort out if I can make it.

My Satin-in-Law really left me FUBAR.:( I may be on vacation with my wife. If I can figure something out, I'll be there.

P.S. I am checking into a hook-up at Amtrak to see if I can get discounted train tickets, and how many. I'll let you all know.

one question. ive never traveled with my equipment before so how would we go about getting our markers and stuff on trains planes or automobuses without being considered hostile intented?

Dayspring
09-23-2002, 11:01 AM
I don't think trains should be an issue. Planes is something else entirely... I've never flown with my equipment before, so it'll be a first for me.

Riotz
09-23-2002, 10:09 PM
They don't search you on trains or buses, so there is no problem there.

As for planes, you just have to disassemble everything and make sure your tank does not have any air in it. It would be illegal to take it on the plane with air inside because it could be explosive. (explosive as in the tank exploding not it being flammable)

I'm booking my flight tonight. I'm looking at 9:30ish flight on Continental (from Newark) to Greenburg/Spartanville, arrival at noon-ish.

Not sure when I'm leaving yet, either sunday or monday (probably monday) around noon.

LMK if there is anybody else on these flights.

ALSO- looking for a few people to share room $. (Govna? Kaiser? You guys in?)

All I need worry about is rental Car ($70), Hotel ($50-100 depending on who's with me), food & paint.

Relatively cheap for a weekend in another state playing paintball :)
