hey all... i just got a used 68 3000 flatline and i want to replace the gauges on there... now is there anything special i should know about this before i start messin with it. any comments are appreciated

First..make sure you're tank is completely empty.. other than that..just be real careful not to strip the threads when installing the new guages..

When putting on the new gauges, I'd use loc-tite instead of teflon tape. I like teflon tape for most conections but for a tank I'd take the safer route and use loc-tite.

Im also in the same situation with the used 68/3k flatine im gettin. The tramp what color loc-tite is best for this situation? And where could we get it? Thanks alot!

Yeah- don't replace it with new AGD gauges, because they easily break on their own, with no actual reason for breaking.

You'd probably be OK with the blue but if you want to be really safe go for the red. You can get loc-tite are almost any hardware store. It's a pretty common product.

I would use the blue(medium) loctite.......it holds very well, but it is removable with just tools. if you use red and hte gauge breaks, you will have th eheat the joint to get it off........that means you have to take the whole reg apart.
