Who says you can't use co2 on an Angel http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif

These and a whole team full of guns were converted by a guy from Finland and seemed to work just fine http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif

They work all right, I've shot the original one. The guy who made these plays for Finnish team Twilight. He has harassed WDP techs on several tourneys and the techs always wonder "How can that work" http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif He can get well over 1000 shots (1500 or something like that) from a 20 oz CO2 bottle. Please note the Finlandia Vodka bottle http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif

aside from the angels being all scratched up it looks pretty cool.look like all he did was add a Max-Flow reg, and a Palmer rock reg, for a volumiser.

The internet angel community has known about these for at least 2 years or more...

Marti Gronfors was the originator. I think the first pic I saw was in 98.

Well well..

I didn't realise that it would look THAT ugly when photographed... :)

But overall, it has served me for 3+ years now, and hasn't failed me once. As for the someones consern about liquid co2 : The maxflow functions admirably well in keeping it out, and since the only place where it would do harm is 14way and ram, the palmer's rock works as additional quarantee (and if I would be stupid enough not to use antisyphon tube etc. I could only blame myself.)

The rock works as a LPR in this setup, this way I was able to remove the original LPR, and use the space liberated as additional valve chamber. This allows to run on lower operating pressure wich is a must when using co2.

The gas channels are also enlarged for better flow and valve is AKA:s tornado. The bolt is a AKA type single hole model (without the slots for o-rings) and it boosts velocity by 20-40fps.

Few months ago I was able to come up with "plug'n play" setup for LCD (you dont have to modify the body of the marker in any way) It's still a prototype, but sofar it has worked ok.

And if someone noticed, all those markers in the picture have a Cyclone anti-chop eye installed, works wonders for ROF :) (even a butterfinger like me can fan the trigger all I want, and never chop a ball)

If interested, come and say hello at Campaing Cup, we'll be there

Mara / Twilight

P.S. Our team lost a silver 2000 LCD in Joy Masters, if you have any information about the whereabouts of it, please contact me. (it isnt modified in any way, and has a 4500/68 maxflow)

All I gotta say is if you are going to do this a bottle of Vodka is probably a good idea. http://www.automags.org/ubb/wink.gif

Yes. That is pretty much it. You need to replace the LPR with a rock, put a stabilizer before the minireg or just replace it. Then you have to take it completely down and clean out every iota of lithium grease. You can replace it with dow33 but its a tad too thin. Most co2 angel users just use oil. Some orings need to be replaced with co2 tolerant orings for best results. There are certain people including me working on a drop in mod for this.

OH-My-Gawd! Those are without a doubt the coolest looking Angels I have ever seen. It takes years to get a gun to look that good. Remember pre-thrashed jeans you used to get that were so trendy? Well, the same idea applies here. You should thrash some Angels, then make them your 'Signature Series'. There is your first million dollars, right there. I'm gonna give that one to you free...no, no... no need to thank me.

Well, I moved and then found the local field only uses CO2, so no air. This means I'll either have to get a new marker or convert my old LED to use CO2.

Now letting you know that I'm new to the sport, what all do I (or an airsmith) need to do, and how do I need to do it. To get this wonderful set of modifacations on my angel?

Could you do a similar conversion on your RT/Xvalve?

Would CO2 have the same rate of fire as compressed air?

Maybe it would just be cheaper and less hassle just to buy a used Level 7 valve on the forums here? LOL... :)

It is physically impossible for Co2 to have the same "recharge" rate as compressed air under high ROF. It just can't boil off from the liquid state fast enough and its output pressure is dependent on outside temperature.

But... but.. why?

You can get a cheap preset nitro for like $100...

Or do they not allow HPA where you guys play?

Plus I'd love to get a scratched up LED like that... then I could buy it cheap and restore it. Project gun! :)

Fred

at the time I don't believe HPA was readily available in Finland... so you gotta make do with what you got! :D

I think its rather sweet, and gotta give props to my countrymen...

The one on the right(2nd pic) dosen't actually look too bad. I wouldn't mind having one of those so everyone would instantly sha there pants when they see some kid screwing a CO2 tank on to an Angel.

Edit: anyone happen to know where I can get some sort of a "write-up" of what actually goes into the this other than Stab, Rock, and new O-Rings? I might be interested in trying this out as some sort of project one day. hehe.

Nice to see people commenting badly on something they don't know anything about.

That original LED (the first angel ever put on co2) played right along side me in last years World Cup (2002) and continues to work flawlessly. Our team with that gun made the semi finals of the novice division so it can't be that detrimental to use an Angel on CO2.

Yes they were made because getting air in Finland for those guys was tough. But they work so well they continue to use them that way, even though it is easier to get air there now.

WickedKlown I don't think there is actually much more to it than that...

Calling my post garbage when you can't even use simple grammar and punctuation....

It's "You're" as in "You Are", not "your", Mr. Non-Garbage poster. Yeah and this thread was falling fast, but good thing you bumped it up to the top again. ::thumbs up::
