This info is on Evil's new barrel... The Pipe!....
The new EVIL barrel- Micron Honed to be smoother than any barrel out there, to a tolerance within 7 ten thousandths of an inch, closer to any barrel maker out there, with 30* angled out porting on the end to blow paint away from the gun if a break would occur. In testing, the honing on the barrel was so good, they have shot 689 sized paint through a 683 back without a break.

The kit consists of 5 backs, and any length front from 10-18" in 2 " increments
MSRP $150
The fit/finish on this is impecable.....

1.) Do they make it for mags?
2.) What's the website for evil?
Thanks.
*edit* - sorry, we were typing at the same time.

It looks pretty cool (to me) but I wonder if it's any better than the other $150 barrel kits out there.

Who knows yet, but it definately beats most of the competition pricewise (based on the MSRP)

the tapered tip looks bad, IMO but nice price

I dunno, I guess if you think about it, it might put the paintball 'back on path' if it had moved inside the barrel.. if it was just a straight barrel without the puffed out part in the middle, it would be the same size at the end and you wouldn't see the taper.

Not sure, I'm going to see if I can get one someone to try it out.

Yeah, it looks like an optical effect, you'll also notice the table edge is also warped.

It might be tapered, but not anywhere near as much as it looks in the picture.

UMmmmm....

The OUTSIDE might be tapered, but I think it's a little unlikely anyone would create a barrel with a tapered INSIDE.

They look pretty good to me.When AGD comes out with the aluminum bodies for the standard mag I'll be in need of a barrel kit to go along with it and for the price compared to the Freak or J&J it doesn't seem too bad.Hopefully it'll be everything it's hyped up to be.

They say they are built to have tolerences within .0007 of an inch. Now, you're talking about barrel sizes of .679-.695, or so. Those're just guesses, but it doesn't really matter. So, let's say you have in your hand the .685 and the .687.

Now, the tolerence could be either accuracy or precision, accuracy being how close it is to what it was intended to be, and precision being how close two barrels of the same bore are to eachother. Tolerence is a loose word.

Now, let's assume they mean accuracy, so that means a .685 could be .0007 inches up or down. That means it could be anwhere from .6843 to .6857. Also, the .687 could be anywhere from .6863 to .6877. That means the ".685" bore size could be as close as .0006 to the ".687" bore size (.6857 to .6863). So, that means that your different bores are in reality .0006 inches apart, rather than the advertised .002 inches apart. This is a HUGE difference.

The same problem would arise with a precision of .0007 inches.

If BOTH the accuracy AND precision can be within .0007, then there's no point in owning the kit. Because this would mean that it could be up or down .0014, a .685 barrel could be anywhere from .6836 to .6864 and a .687 could be anywhere from .6856 to .6884. This means the bigger ".687" bore could actually be SMALLER than the ".685" bore.

Tolerences to .0007 inches are truly nothing to brag about. Without further information, there is no way I will even consider purchasing this barrel kit.

What's up with their website, I can't get in, it's just a screen with a picture. Any other thoughts on the barrels? Anybody use them?
