I think this picture says that most as to how much was actually taken off the rail.

You get the frame milled too?

Blennidae
10-24-2002, 02:40 PM
Did you weigh the rail before and after to see how much weight you saved?

p8ntballa
10-24-2002, 03:15 PM
He said he didnt have a scale. I'm getting mine done like that in two weeks (next pay check), I have plans on going to the local newspaper and using their digital scale that they weigh papers or something with, before and after and I will up this post with the answers.

The frame is milled too. So is the trigger guard if you didnt notice.

pito189
10-24-2002, 03:59 PM
So what do you fellas (ladies too)?

Should I get it powdercoated the translucent red?

Or perhaps a red to black fade in the translucent powdercoat?

I really want the whole gun to be red so I am leaning more towards powdercoating.

pito, looks nice, but did you hollow out any of it? that is one thing you may want to look into, black posted a pic of a ule body rail, and see if you could get any thing done like that, i hihghly reccomend it, the ule is amazingly light

pito189
10-24-2002, 04:09 PM
This thing is crazy light also. So much was taken off the outside that if you tried to hollow out the inside, i believe the structural integrity of the rail would be compromised.

If you look at the sear screw on the right side of the rail you can see how much was actually shaved off the rail.

p8ntballa is going to weight his before and after he gets the same milling. I just don't have access to scales here at school.

Again, Very nice paul!! I think I'm gonna have to steal that thing now :D

Personally, I'd go with the translucent red. I'm serisously addicted to that color :D :D

IMHO, i wouldnt powder coat that red or blue. iit looks to nice. if you were to powder coat it, do it in black. :)

Lefty Pride!!! Fat gun too. I think the red on silver is awesome, should look even better when its done.

did you get the new rail converted from AGD. does it come with ACE?

VERY nice job. As for powder coat I say red to black fade, silver to red fade. Looks like they took off a ton on that rail.

If you need a scale you can always take it to the post office. They have one in the lobby for customer use any time you want. Its probably going to be very accurate as well.

No, it is just the stock rail that got the piss milled out of it.:D Althought it would be cool it does not have the ACE it still just the normal rail just milled.

I could just weigh the rail and I think I would be safe there. :)

pito189

I can give you the person's information if you would like it just drop me a pm or e-mail.

I will just say it took a lot longer for shipping then it takes for him to actually finish the milling.:)

Looks great!! If I have a standard emag (sold and now own a micro emag) I would have done the same thing, Plus this

-Cut the main body back
-get close or match the angle of the main body cut to the rail cut.

- cut the back of the rail down also

hope that makes cents ;)

My mirco is gettin milled right now

I am considering it, I'm just not sure of what to cut the body with? Also how would i smooth the edges after the cut?

nice body, I'm considering having that done to my emag body too just to lighten the gun up a little and make it look a little trimmed down. However I'm not quite sure what to do about the body. I have a left pf like yours pictured there yet I want to put a warp on the left side. I really don't want to run the hose around the side of the gun, but I might have to for now. I would just buy a left warp body but the AGD store says they are sold out and have been since early this year. Eventually I'd like to have everything upgraded into a C&C xtreme body so I'm wondering if I should even have something like this done. Also my long powerfeed plug for the warp, I was looking at the pic of yours and it covers half the opening, mine doesnt come down that far and there is a small lip or gap between the plug where the tube meets the breech. I'm wondering if I'm going to have to cut down the power feed tube a little to make that flush. It's probably off about a quarter of an inch or so. - Seabaas

Darn I didn't have a pic of my gun with me I'm at work so I took yours and trying to show where my powerfeed plug is stopping at, anyone know if I'm going to have to cut down the powerfeed neck or not? - Seabaas

I would probaly call AGD and get another plug before you started cutting on your body. Try to trade your body for an HR. Then you can just have the hose coming out of the bottom of the powerfeed. I don't want to get the warp right, because then if the warp goes down your kinda screwed.

I do want to get a no rise body eventually.

I got mine back today. The Emag before I had it milled was 3 pounds 4 ounces(with the classic mag body) and I will tell you what it weighs now on Saturday.

Well I didn't polish it, but a teammate did. He used drano, and just went at it. I believe he polished the inside with one of those huge Redz squeegies.

It does ruin the squeegy.

I will. The pieces that I had powdercoated should be back to me Friday or Saturday. Hopefully the grips will come in on Saturday. Then I will get pictures of everything at practice on Sunday.

This is a pic of my mag and the cutting i did to it. I used a dremel w/cut off wheels and an mechanics air powered cut off tool for large section and the dremel for tight sections.

make sure you have extra wheels, and you can even use two at the same time, that helps make each one last longer
