J.T. here, reporting back from Team Pie. (Pie's members include AO members Will Wood, Sinnet, Gimli, myself, and one other fellow)

Unfortunately we had a rough time at the September Slam at Rogue paintball on the 20th. We placed 10th out of 11 teams.

We held our ground well, and didn't go down without a tough fight, but I guess it wasnt enough to put us higher in the standings.

We managed to get Will to the 50 for the flag grab most of the games, which insured that most teams would not max us out (mad props to Will for that one ;) ).

The good side of the story is that we walked a way with the Sportsmanship Award and I think we all learned alot in those groosome 11 games against some of the best teams in the area.

Wish us luck in our future tournies! Thanks

Pics will be up shortly!
:D :D :D

Unfortuantly, the first game was pretty much played without me.....my flatline was having some problems so I had to use my backup tippmann...and my amazing trickerjob to it backfired at a crucial moment in the 50..it wouldn't recock :( I lookdown to see that...just as I get nailed in the mask.

Second game, I couldn't see in my very scratched up lense, I paused mid way to the 50 not sure where I was going, and got nailed. (Yea...excuses, excuses :)

Now my mag is all set, with a 45/45 and I am using JT's protues. Now were kicking.

To my opposion, they make me goto the 50 for the flag. I think I got it all but a couple games. (To think of, when I got shot on half way to 50, and when it was a tie to the 50, and the other guy got it....bunkered a second latter:))

Coinicidently, the only game where I got my chose of play, we had a staggering victory..what's up with that? PLayed back at first, then ran to get the flag, while getting 2 or 3 guys out... ;)

But I continue to suicide my self, getting 15 points we probably wouldnt have gotten otherwise. I soon realize I need an electro, intelli doesn't cut it. Too heavy. I might get an electro frame for it soon, or maybe a emag.

We may have gotten our butts handed to us, but it was a blast.

Those were some very cool pics guys, sucks about the point standings. Can't win them all. Perhaps a retro valve would even the score some in terms of having issues with ROF.

There's the scoreboard...

I'd attribute our less-than-great finish to three things:

1. Some gun troubles- will mentioned his struggle to get his mag working, One of our back players was on CO2 and it was jumping everywhere. I broke 3 balls in the barrel (i'm gonna say it was the paint, because I usually average one break/chop in a case or less w/my all american, and I had JUST gotten level 10).

2. Communnication/teamwork- we were all trying really hard to communicate and play as a team, but it's tough when 3 of your players don't know each other at all, and only 2 have played as teammates before. Because of this, we were very inconsistent, getting maxed a few times, but we also put up some good games, and almost maxxed one of the better teams there. Pie will improve tons in the future I believe. :)

3. The competition- Tough Teams! The most experience any of our players had was four tournaments, and it was Gimli's and my second. This being an open tournament with teams active in the MRPL, NEPL, and NPPL (I was told)... they had a bit of experience on us, although, I must say I think I improved more than I ever had in one day.

All in all though, it was a great time, had a blast. Can't wait to do it again.

Thanks for the support guys! At the moment we are all playing for seperate teams, and pulled together as Team Pie for this tournament.

We worked suprisingly well for the first time and my hopes for us are to keep playing together as Pie. We also plan on entering a few more tournaments together before spring.

Our goal is to enter the Maine Amatuer Circuit next year.
