Is it bulletproof? No car deserves the coolest tag unless its bulletproof:D

Edit: Actually watched the video:) My comment seems really stupid now...

I've been dreaming about something like that and everytime I think about it I start peicing together Ideas, of course it would never happen, legal issues would keep any individual from every doing it, but I was kinda playing with the idea of a 8 pack of Hell fire missles :D but hey, a twin minigun would be cool to?! check this out.

http://www.montysminiguns.com/GEFullSizPage.htm

Also I've been watching scematics of battle bots robots and part/price lists of their servos. And being a novice car audio installer the fiberglass parts and custom dah parts are no problem.

ahh I can dream right?

I would put my money on it..... I doubt they would go through all that trouble without making it bullet proof.

This is not a new idea though. The company that makes most of the Top End Bullet Proof Vehicles (I forget their name) for the White House, The Pope, Middle Eastern concerns, etc. has an awesome Extended Cab Pickup with cap on it that is darn near the same thing..... and it has been out for some time.

I think it was on the History or Science Channel (or one of those types) that I saw the company profiled in a Bullet Proof Show. They even showed it shooting while moving, and in an actual convoy situation with other bullet proof vehicles. You would never have guessed. LOL Now THAT was awesome.

I wish they had shown this Suburban firing like that. :D

I WANT ONE!!! Shartley, I remember watching that same show...they stretched and armored a celica, or other compact car. The process is actually pretty cool...The suspension on this things gotta be beefy...those arent light, and the recoil...well...it a 1/2" round!

Yup… and they showed the types of armor and for what purposes. How it is all constructed, etc. How different rounds are actually stopped with each type of armor. And all the good stuff. I hope they show it again… It was the type of show I could watch over and over and still find interesting.

I still wish they had shown that Suburban firing on the move though… after all, the FIRST rule of convoy protection (and that includes personal escorts in convoy formation) is KEEP MOVING (in fact that applies to single vehicle protection as well). The weapon would only be shot while not moving IF the vehicle was shielding the principle’s vehicle because it was immobilized or it IT was immobilized. Other than that, it is all on the move.

But I agree.. I want one too! I would let Kim drive the Suburban and I would take the Pick Up. Brings new meaning to "Soccer Mom" in light of the recent events. ;)

They wouldnt have the accuracy while driving. I am sure they wanted to show that off...hence every round a tracer (good way to kill a barrel). However, youre right. You get hit, you duck and punch the gas. That vehicle has gotta weigh a fe tons...not much would stop it. The .50 cal, I would think, would be used more in an anti pursuit role...driving away, shooting whoever is behind you. You gotta have big b***s to drive into the line of fire from one of those...hell, the smack of the round on your vehicle alone would make you shudder. and I dont think they make a practical glass that would stop that round...not in a windshield at least.
If I remember correctly, a decked out suburban, sans M2, weighed in at like 5 tons. Thats all armor and suspension. But boy, would that be a fun toy!

And what does that have to do with this thread? This is not a hand gun, nor even anything close to it. It is for protective detail work..... How about posting numbers that relate to how many people die from 50cals in each country....

Seriously, I fail to see the connection… even if your numbers were correct.

In those same countries, only law enforcement, and military have weapons. I personally love my guns, and no..I wouldn't use them on some joe bob, only to protect my family and my life. Material things can be replaced.

<<<< back to the thread topic >>>> ;);)

I would have to agree with the GE Chaingun, or possibly a C-wiz (sp?) unit mounted in one of those suburbans. I read about them a while ago... there's like 4 of them on every aircraft carrier and battleship. They look like R2D2 and have 2 35MM Chainguns controlled by like 5 radar systems. Maybe Army can help me out..I'm sure he's seen or heard of them. They can take out incomming Kamikaze planes and literally shredd the materials down to 2in by 2in pieces :) That would be tight!

I wholeheartedly agree with you Frausty.

Ooooo... that'd be hella sweet!! How 'bout we turn the Suburban into a ground version of the Jolly Green Giant?! Slap a few mini-guns in there & drive counter-clockwise circles. Say good-bye to anything!! :D:D

What I was implying was not that 50 cals mounted on SUVs cause such a high homicide rate in the US, that'd be pretty damn stupid. I was saying it's a culture that embraces violence with guns into everyday life and always seems to be so eager solve problems with guns (ei. movies+ television influencing people) may have something to do with it.

If you challenge my numbers, look them up for yourselves.

Annnnywho, its one hell of a sneaky SUV.
