as u all know i asked for some suggestions on unique hyerball bunker designs. well here is the first one. our Y bunker. center feild on the tape line is where it will go. the large 3ft dia pipe is where the tapeline will be.

http://recursionpb.homestead.com/files/hyper/hyperY.jpg

each leg of the Y is 6 and 3/4' long 18" dia.
on top of each leg is 4' long 12" dia. the center peice is 5' tall 2' dia. and on the end of the tape line leg is 2' tall 3' dia.
this looks like it should work well for a front player, not too big and not too small.

what do u think? keep it or loose it?

HERE R SOME NEW PICS!!!!!

midfield side bunker (not done yet though need to fill in the gaps yet...)

AND SOME MORE!!!

ditto previous post. we have been using sandbags. the bad thing about sandbags is that someone must fill them http://www.automags.org/ubb/frown.gif

i got those tubes from construction sites and recycling plants. these r all scraps and usually they will give them to u since they normaly have to pay for them to be taken away. for new stuff it usually goes for $5-20 a foot dependign on diameter. expensive stuff.

You can make a lot of money off this if you can get your hands on alot of the material. There is a lot of people building their own field ya know....

Ok magc68, i have heard about how to cut, where to buy and price, but how are you building these? what are you using to fasten the tubes to one another?
at my field we end up just laying pieces next to each other or using rope on vertical pieces.
I am asking because your came out looking so good i would like to use the same technique.

i used grade 2 bolts to scure the pipe together and used screws to hold the covering on over the gaps...
im sorry but it was hard to get a pic of how the standups and laydowns were connected but since its corricated the ridges give u enough room to put a bolt through and then bolt them together where they touch...

http://recursionpb.homestead.com/files/hyper/bolts.jpg
how they r bolted together (pic of 2 pipes in parallel)

http://recursionpb.homestead.com/files/hyper/covers.jpg
what i used to cover the gaps with

http://recursionpb.homestead.com/files/hyper/pipe.jpg
how i made the cover peices. cut 6" pipe into 1/4ths

well in my experience something that "playable" in the middle of the field can make games stalemate alot easier. It is definately a nice design but maybe put it a little closer to the back...just a suggestion. I like your flag station bunker though...nice work!!!

He's cover the gaps for a reason http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif Don't wanna get shot through the base, again.

That last one in the first post is like the best idea for a base too. The crack pipe.

Looks awesome, can't wait to see the snake.

Uhhhh....Crack Pipes?

Thats turning into a sweet field. Sometimes i wish that i would live upstate and not over here in brooklyn. Its not like the City (Manhatten) but its mostly residential. bout 70 houses on each block... I would like to live where theres open fields and stuff... you know..

magc68

phil,
crakpipe came from GRC. me and ityl play there. i belive one of the lockout guys names a bunker similar to that. its a 18" dia lay down 6' long pipe, then on top a 15" dia 3' long pipe with a 4' tall 36" dia on the end. loos similar to my version. so at GRC it got the name crackpipe.

the snake is getting a lot of consideration right now. dont wanna cut the pipe up and then change our mind. ill post some ideas later for my version of the snake...

wellbefore i coudl finace the rest of the feild i was offered the chance to sell to the local feild. so that is what im gonna do. they r going to mix the hyper with the ultimate airball feild to make a 10 man feild untill they get enough hyper tubing to make a entirely seperate 5 man feild. ill get pics when i get all the pipe dilvered over there.
