View Full Version : little question about nitro
im going to get a nitro tank soon, and i was wondering if 4500 psi tanks can be filled to 3000psi and work the same as a 3000psi tank? becuase im not sure how many psi my pro shop can fill and i was wondering if they can only get 3000 psi a tank with 4500 psi can perform the same as a 3000psi tank when filled to only 3000psi?

Yes, it will work. Why get a 45 K tank if you'll never get a full fill, though?

Yep. Look at it this way. You've got say, a 114ci tank. For some reason, the field runs out of air (? lol) & you only get 68 of that 114 filled. Same principle applies here. You're allll good!

um.... spazzed i think an CO2 referance would have worked better... a 20 oz tank will still work when filled to 15 oz... cause you dont fill N2 by volume, by pressure ( which im sure you know) so if you put 68ci of 3000psi air into a 114 tank the pressure would drop...ok now im lost:rolleyes: :D

Yes, as Load stated, it will work fine. I fill mine at both 4500 and 3000 depending on where I am playing, or getting it filled.
thanks shartley. i think i get it, but just to make you guys un-confuzzled, im asking this:
if i get a 68/4500 tank will i be able to fill it to 3000psi(pretend my pro shop only does 3000psi fill and my field does 4500psi fills), will it perform the same as a 3000psi tank that is full?

It will work just fine. I have a maxflow 68/4500 and it gets filled to 3000 psi on most weekends.
