Here is the latest version, that has been modified as per several suggestions in the other thread. the other thread has become a bit cluttered, so a new one has become necessary.

Come on… you don’t want “comments” you want folks to say they like it… and that is it.

Well, I think it is a good start, but there are things I don’t like about it…..but who cares what I think, right? EVERYONE loves this new design…

I like it, except I still like the little swoosh from Shartley's design. I think the boxing off of the bottom looks too much like the Borg shatnerball shirts, but, thats my opinion.

I like enough to buy one. You can never please all people, so you have to shoot for the majority. My only fear is that I will look like a reptile out on the field.:)

Everyone that gave their input on this, thank you. It's about time that an AO jersey is going to get made.

Fred, when will these be done? I might just stop by their factory and pick mine up.

Fred, I know that the primary design, but can you put up the others too? There were a few that had ideas I liked in them. Specifically, like I mentioned, the swoosh design at the bottom. thanks!

This design is much better than anything I've seen so far. Shartley's design is also great as well.

Why do we have to settle for one design over the other. Since we're not receiving any appreciable discount, why not post 2 or 3 designs that people can choose from? When you contact CSG to order, you indicate the art work you want and you're all set. That way, if you like the CSG version or the Shartley version you get what you the buyer wants. I don't think we're ever going to get concensus for one design so why not have several 'offical' designs.

It shouldn't be about getting credit for coming up with the idea or picking the design it should be about getting AO members what they all want. A nice AO jersey we'll all wear with pride.

oldsoldier
11-25-2002, 12:37 PM
well, as a suggestion; If this goes to a poll (the different designs, which it should), only post them one color each. We all know we can order different colors, but, it'll keep the space down. Again...BRING BACK THE SWOOSH!

oldsoldier
11-25-2002, 12:39 PM
2000, I kinda disagree. I think there should be only one, BUT, I think the designs, like I said, should all be posted and voted on. Perhaps even mixing and matching designs. We have waitied a while for this; I'm sure another week or two wont hurt :D

LittMag

Since these jerseys are gonna be custom why can't we have multiple ones? They all have the same basic design so it'll look semi uniform, but I really like the swoosh.

I like what fred and Littmag posted. If the swish is the same as shartley's, it works for me.

Lets vote and have only one jersey. That way we will all have the same look on the field. That is what we want is the 'instant recognition' isn't it? As well as supporting AGD, we will be recognized as AOers.

I also like the idea of a personal graphic on one of the shoulders or on the front on the left or right shoulder. Maybe with your AO nick as well.

I like both designs but I think the ones Fred posted look a little better. Whatever goes along the bottom, be it swooshed or straight, won't really matter as most of us wear packs of some kind that will cover it up and bunch the fabric up anyway. If we did'nt wear packs and starched the jerseys flat as a board it might be more of an issue, in my opinion, but since we don't........;)

Nice job on all the designs.

TheTramp

I like the swish version but I'm not sure about the back. My number is 5 so it would fit but the 22 looks too big and forget it if you have a three digit number.

Skoad

I don't really like the looks of it too much, something about it, not really sure what it is. Looks funky. Probably not worth $60 imho

Although i do like how the colors are faded in the "swoosh" version. Toss a gray and black one up there please :)

However, i'm not sure i like the stripe down the arm saying automags or whatever, I was thinking of putting on a AGD patch on one of the shoulders, or perhaps i could put it down near the waist line.....

Why don't we push for a LARGER discount. We will be ordering more than ANY other team out there. What team has 2000+ members....

Not saying everyone on AO is going to get them, but I can see at least 50 of these being sold.

Well, I got some email from Jamie,

Since there is demand for both styles, it looks like they will be able to do both the Shartley-Swoosh and the angled lines.

I personally don't care too much for the swoosh in its current form, but perhaps it can be refined.

There is a problem pointed out to my by CSG about the fades, they won't look that great the way Shartley has made them, something to do with the sublimation process. that's how it was explained to me, don't hate me.

I personally like Shartley's sleeves better with the stretched keyhole holding the text.

and, a good point was made, that you'll be wearing packs over these, and that they look much different in 3d when there is a body in them.

This is interesting... since the actual background is the same as what CSG had, all I did was darken the colors. Only on the sleeves did I add any shadowing or altering of the basic design.

So, if what you see in mine can't be done, neither can theirs... don't believe me? Take a good look at the latest one they came up with and then look at mine.... there is no difference but the darkening of the colors. So, if indeed they ARE going to be darker when printed, they should actually end up closer to what my "computer" images look like.

Just something to think about...

jamiecsg

Hi Shartley

Fred made a mistake I had warned him against using DROP SHADOWS with this printing process. From past experience they don't work very well but if you want to still go ahead with them we'll print it that way.

We want everyone to be as happy as possible.

shartley
11-25-2002, 03:17 PM
I understand this... but like I said, the only part of the design that I added any sort of shadowing is in the sleeves. This can be removed..... and for folks, I will do so, so they see how it looks.

But the body part used none. Like I said, it is your exact design with no changes other than darkening the colors.

By all means, folks should design to the limitations of the printing process... and not above them...

I will work up a side by side of the two designs and in full layout (like you did) so folks can better determine what is actually going on…

Are these jerseys still gonna cost 60+ dollars?

Muzikman
11-25-2002, 03:24 PM
Ok, here is what I like from each of the designs...

I like the CSG lettering on the back (name layout and number). I like the [first "nickname" last] name idea. Hell I even use that standard in my sig.

I like the CSG idea of using the AGD lion logo on one shoulder.

I like Sam's sleeve where it has the automags.org in side the "frame" or what ever you want to call it.

I can go either way with either the number or AO on the other sleeve. It would be cool if you could pick what you wanted in there.

I can go either way on the swoosh or no swoosh. as Load pointed out, you wear a harness, you wouldn't see it any way.

I like Sam's colors a little better. Again, it might just be CSG's drawing and it might not reflect the real jersey color, but I do like the darker, easier on the eyes color.

Why doesn't someone do me a favor and make up a drawing like this:)

Also, I think going with Sam's sleeve design but puting the AGD lion logo on one shoulder, you will need to use the color of the jersey, not the black or gray that it shows on the CSG.

Fred: Great job!!! I know it's not what EVERYONE wanted but you can't please everyone. I think you and Jamie did a good job working everyone's input into the mix. It's been hard enough getting 10 people to agree on a design.... You're dealling with Hundreds of opinions. As I stated, it's not what I would have designed... but I'll buy it and wear it!

All I want to know is... When can the Team for MGO'03 place an order?

OK Here is what you get for $65

A choice of 2 designs in 6 different color combos.
(which is more than what the leading brands will offer in their designs for the year)

Your name and numbers regardless of how big. It's sized to fit before printing it's not like your normal iron on transfers. (So you can have big names and 3 numbers)

You can also get other logos sublimated on it.

The fabric is called EvapR8. It's a high performance moisture wicking fabric (you can check it out on the site).

Turnaround time is generally 2wks or less.

We'll post them on our site so you can purchase at your convenience.

As for quality there are a few AO members out there who will vouch for that.

So, are we still in design? Or are these the final two to go with? As jaimie states we can choose 2 designs (personally, I think we should go with one, thus making an "official" jersey). either way, I am gonna order one. The green and blue both look nice...may have to color coordinate with my mag...wow, I think this is finally coming to fruition! Good job on the design, everyone who has had a helping hand in this. And $65 isnt too bad, considering you are getting a completely personalized jersey, PLUS the only people wearing them will be us!

Heh, I guess Shartley's design grew on me :D I didn't like the swoosh at first (i thought it went too high up), but now I like it :D :D (We can tell you like it to! ;) ) Nice work, Shartley.

I would still like the AGD Lion logo somewhere on Shartley's...but I also want the number on one sleeve and the AO on the other... Any other place you could throw the Lion logo on? I was thinking maybe the front left hand corner..because the swoosh goes real high, maybe it would look ok down there (i know the pack would cover it while playing). Or maybe a real small AGD Lion logo on the right shoulder, above the 'Automags Online.'

Anyone else feel the need to have the Lion logo on there somwhere!! I also want the number and AO on the shoulders, so I want another place to put it!! :D

Also..for an "offical AO jersey," as long as it has the same "Automags Online" logo on the front..i think it will count as "offical."

I like! Can someone post up more jerseys with the differnet options? Like Shartleys w/ number and AO on sleeves, and then AO and AGD on the sleeves and stuff.. And an example for the name would be nice..so we can see how our names would look on it. I don't even know if i wanna put my real name on it or just my AO name..hmm..

Nice work to everyone.

The litte "dollar signs" are CSG logos, which, I don't feel fit quite right in the numbers, but as this is my second CSG jersey, I'm not gonna mind if there is one on there or not. (PPIG does not have them).

I think you misunderstood why I was so vocal. I would have been the same even if one of the designs was NOT mine…. And I think most on AO know that about me. As it was this morning, I felt that one design was being railroaded upon AO, and being presented as the one “everyone” seemed to like… yet I knew that was not accurate. I think this thread shows that pretty clear.

So as long as AO gets what they truly want, I am happy, even if it is not my design. I was actually hoping someone would take what I did and run with it…. I am sure it can be improved upon. It is not a shartley wins or loses issue, it is whether AO wins or loses. And if AO wins, I am happy.

Why do we have to 'call' numbers? It's your personal jersey, you should be able to get what you want. So what if someone else in the world has the same number. Numbers and names should be anything you want them to be even if someone else chooses the same thing. Let's not get carried away with this.

I agree the number should be what you want, not leftovers.:)

The Wang Force logos are going to be made into patches which IMO, look better and will be able to be put anywhere on the jersey without causing any confusion during the printing proccess.

I personally like shartley's design better, it doesn't seem to just cutt off at the bottom of the hexes. I like the transition between the pattern and the blank portion. Of course that's just my opinion....

No matter what design is chosen, *cough*shartley's*cough* I will still buy several.

Just to clarify

When you order your jersey you tell us what logos you want and where. It's part of the price. This way you get the logos you want in the design of the jersey. So there is no confusion or hassel, it's what we do. You just fill out a form with your name, number, logo placement exactly how you want it and we make it. Everything is in the design of the jersey it won't wear out, crack, fade, and it breathes with the fabric instead of laying on top of it.

shartley
11-26-2002, 09:27 AM
One thing that I would like to point out that is also different between the two designs is that on the one I modified, there is the dark ring of hexes over the left breast…. I think this would look good on the other one as well…. it not only adds to the overall look, but has meaning. ;)

Just something to think about.

Actually I was thinking the same thing, but called a number anyway. I'm weak. :)

It's not like CSG keeps track of what number gets set to who, and then won't let you order a number if somebody else has it. :) Doesn't happen in any other sport. Amoungst competing teams at least.

I got a call from Ivan (the man in charge at CSG), and he would like to make sure that we have Tom's permission for this (no joke).

So a quick "yes" or "change this" would be great.

They would like to get this in the pipeline since teams are beginning to order their Skyball jersies... and before we start bickering again... (I'm at fault for that too)

The scoop is this:

They will work out what the prints will look like, and send me a jpeg sometime today, or tomorrow, which I will post in a new thread, along with ordering instructions.

To order, they will set up a form on their website that will be private, A link will be posted here on AO that will get you to the form, fill out the form, you're good to go.

that makes it a lot easier for them to get spellings right, and for you do describe what you want as far as name, number, etc.

Sit tight! I'll post as soon as I get it.

But you could probably get these made by a Canadian supplier for 60-65 Canadian dollars, making the price a steal for all you Americans.

Yes, the price is $65 US.

havn't seen or heard of a cananadian company that does this kind of work, much less one that could provide a product of similar quality for the same price, or less.

(and yes I intentionally spelled Canadian wrong, its a Detroit thing that we poke fun at our neighbors across the river, Canadian Bacon anyone?)

silly cananadians, trying to overthrow the US by flooding it with their funny-money change!

nothin is worse than getting a Cananadian quarter in my change... i ask for one that is worth 25 US cents, not 15...

:p
