AO!!

We have to have an add into PGI by midnight tonight. We have cooked up a pic and features but are stumbling on the slogan and background. Here is the almost finished add, please see if you can come up with cool background or slogan that can go 300 dpi out of photoshop.

THanks!!

Well you are using a blue marker, so i suggest a light orange to black fade, instead of pink.
Also Diagonal lines bring the attention to the marker. Diagonal lines cause you to be drawn from text to marker, and vise versa. use lines that are fatter at the top, and get skinnier towards marker.

Here is is with orange background by request from TNS

"Lighter, Lower, More Reliable - Better.":D

or

"Not designed to fit your playing STYLE, designed to fit your playing MOOD.":D

You should add "Fully Adjustable Magnetic Trigger"
I dunno if "unbreakable on/off switch" is right, the first time one breaks, there'll be heck to pay.

very nice ad BTW:)

Can't help with the background, but here are a couple of slogans.

"Stand apart from the crowd"
or
"Don't be just another face in the crowd"

"Form, function, and reliability... AGD X-mag."

If I think of more I'll post again.

I know this is way off...but I always liked this look in an ad. Replace the "X mag" with the logo that is used on the valve.

X-mag-What to use when hype just does'nt win tournements.

As far as the background goes, maybe incorporate the AO Hexagon pattern into the orange to black fade. Something a little more interesting than just a fade. (ok he did this while I was typing)

I'd also switch the smaller Airgun logo and the X-mag logo around to better fill the space and not crowd the vert feed.

*2 ounces Lighter the Fly Ir3.

You wanted a light gun. We gave you a light gun AGD.

Well, the last one tom put up is what i have been helping with, i really think it only needs a slogan now.

nippinout
12-08-2002, 05:33 PM
'The Future is Now' seems kinda cheesy to me.

How about these:

"Engineered to win."

"No Jive." :)

"Play with the best. Win with the best. AGD."

Maybe add something about the actuation of the trigger such as: Actuation 0.05mm(human hair 0.10mm)

I'm not sure if i'm correct

Or something like: Halls effect sensor- No switch- No ware -

manike
12-08-2002, 05:46 PM
In my opinion don't over do it with slogans and other background/images.

The look of the gun and the features sell it. Maybe just the one word "Quality" with the speech marks...

Don't distract people from the marker. Let it stand out on it's own.

manike

Sologans are just a waste of space People(like me) like to hear more about it's features and how it is vastly superior to other markers.

Blennidae

"Think of it as a work of art that functions like a Swiss watch"

Kinda cheesy, but the movie was on the other day...

"As good as it gets, AGD X-mag"

"Not just another pretty face"
or
"More than just another pretty face"

Havoc_online
12-08-2002, 06:04 PM
"The all new AGD Xmag, you'll hold on to this one."

"The New AGD Xmag, get one in your favorite flavor"

"X marks the spot, now pick a flavor"

"engineered for the player, by the player."

davidb
12-08-2002, 06:12 PM
Maybe include smaller pictures showing other breaches? I really like the "Who said quality couldn't look cool?" idea. And definitely add to the list of features. Compare it to other guns!

Or maybe just a picture of Manike playing with his Xmag, a list of features, and a little caption that says, "Jealous?" :D

Go with "X marks the spot". Not too wordy plus the thinking man can put two and two together and realize that treasure is often buried where the X is marked on the map:D

This goes along with Manike's theory that the marker will speak for itself. It will. That marker is probably the best looking one on the market.

Great ad....

I hope that this post makes it to your attention prior to placing the ad.

1) Breech is misspelled

"Breach" is incorrect.

"Breech is correct.

2) Override is misspelled

"Overide" is incorrect.

"Override" [two "Rs"] is correct.

Suggestions, not errors follow:

3) Spell out "Level". Lvl seems rushed.

4) Why is Aluminum capitalized in the "All Aluminum..." bullet point? I think for consistency, you should decapitalize Aluminum.

=======

Like this?:

- Level 10 anti-chop system
- ACE (Anti-Chop Eye)
- 1 ounce Superbolt
- Removable breech
- Manual override
- Aluminum body
- 2600 pass CnC milling
- All-aluminum RT valve
- Autococker barrel threads
- Adjustable magnetic trigger
- 20 bps semi mode
- Unbreakable on/off switch
- Ultra Light E______ grip frame [what does "E" stand for?]
- 2.7 pounds without barrel

You should have slogans something like:

You know you wanna smack your balls through this.

Let your balls take the smoothest flight ever.

Let your balls fly in the lap of luxury.

Yes it all has to do with balls. I know. (not one)

18 times faster than smackin balls yourself.

Put on earth for a very good reason.

No more slamin balls in your own home.

Fastest way to work balls in your opponets face. (not this one, I know)

Some of those are pretty bad, but work with it.

PLEASE don't let the ad go in with that orange/brown background. I'm liking what i see with the grey and blues. The orange blue contrast is not appealing. Also, I agree with Shartley that there are way too many X's. They get the point. And That barrel! HORRIBLE! fix the coloration or just use the silver color that was there before.

manike

It's getting far too busy for me now. I'm too busy looking at all the extra images and slogans and not appreciating the marker...

And that is ONE VERY SEXY LOOKING MARKER! It stands out on it's own, more images and stuff just hide it.

I'd be tempted to do Muzikmans all black with his slogan AND just the image of the gun... Anyone want to see if that works for me?

Please do not put the AO logo begind it, I think it really breaks up and detracts from the sleek looking lines of the marker.

And most people won't understand or appreciate why it's there anyway.

KISS!

I agree...no orange and brown. Bleh!...it looks kinda gross behind the nice blue finish. Maybe you should try using a light blue (sky blue) fade to a darker blue? I agree with the idea of not overdoing the "X" motif...let the marker sell itself. If you are going to use the "X marks the spot" idea, please put the "X" next to the rest of the tagline...it won't make as much sense across the page. Here are some taglines I like better than "X marks the spot" anyway:

"Guess who's back?" - Yeah, we know we never left but think of the ad from a Cocker or Angel owner's view.

"Taking over a field near you" - Might as well tell 'em what's in store for the competition.

"Not your Mom's Mag" - That one makes me chuckle.

"You've got the tattoos and piercings...now get something really X-treme." - Plays to the extreme sport junkie in all of us.

"Our design team got a bit wild..." - self explanatory.

"The X-Mag...for all the times you're not a little Angel" - I dig this one. A little friendly jab. :)

"Welcome back" - says a lot with a little.

Hope this helps.
