loctite requires cleaning and drying and all sorts of crap. however if ya gotta leak on ur gun or a screw loose, just wrap that stuff on and your good to go. its as simple as that. replace once a year and theres no problem. i guess if ya wanna seal something that your not planning on screwing with on a regular basis loctite would be the way to go, but still its always a good idea to carry teflon tape with ya

It's all about the teflon tape. It's much less hastle and a quick and easy fix to a leaky fitting.

I use blue loctite on all conections other than the fittings that go directly into the valve and the flatline. I use tape for those.

BOTH, i use loctite on my more perminent connections(elbows like on the valve and such), and tape on the less(hose itself)

545.

I never use teflon unless I don't have time for the loctite to dry. Answer: Do your tech work the night before.

Teflon tape, besides not being as good a solution, can destroy the 'noid in electros.

I only use teflon tape. It is really easy to use, and you don't have to wait for it to dry if you're at the feild.

I've never had a problem with it.

We use blue loctite on all air fittings....
Not sure if it is the best thing to use but it seems to keep the white crap out of the innerds ;)

I prefer locktite, any strengh except the highest on air fittings. I hate teflon tape because it looks bad, puts debris in your solenod (if your lucky enough to have one) and an mess up other fittings. telfon is also a pain in the butt to get off fittings when you take them off.
Use locktite, it is the best.

Anyone ever tried Aquariam sealer or clear caulk? It seals well and wont stay permanantly. and its fun to moosh around.

Blue or Green Loctite
DON'T EVER USE RED on a Paintball marker
unless you really want a piece of junk
when you're done.

Huge reminder people: Loctite 271(red) and 242(blue) are Threadlockers , not sealants, they were designed to lock fasteners (nuts and bolts) in place!! Loctite 545 is a Sealant, which means it was designed to go on fittings to prevent leakage!! Please quit confusing the two!!
Edit: Edited for diction!!! Thank you Speedy!!!

using red loc-tite, works fine on any fitting, as long as you dont overuse it! yes 545 works best, but 247 red works fine also. when using red loc-tite, you should only put 2 drops on the fitting, so that the last 3 threads are completely covered all the way around. then after threading in, you use a rag to clean up the excess. use only enough loc-tite to cover the 3 threads, if you have too much, use a q-tip to remove the excess. i have used blue also, and it works well, just not as well as red. too many people over use teflon tape or liquid pipe tape. first of all it looks ugly, second it gets into the reg and gun, clogging up the whole mess. when i have to use tape, i use teflon tape for gas pipe fittings. it is a bit thicker and easier to work with. it wraps nicer and doesnt fray as much. i use teflon when i am in a hurry, and cant wait for loc-tite to dry.

I use loctite when I am working at home, but keep teflon tape in my tool kit for any problems that may arise at the field. Locktite works/looks better and if you have a dental pick it very easy to clean. Just don't let any of the pieces fall into the gun. (don't remember the number of locktite...I'm at work)
