What makes an RT valve an RT valve

On the side of the Valve, near the back, it says "RetroValve". That's the difference.

http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif Love ya Lizza! Actually, the ReTro valve taps gas from the unregulated incoming air from your tank. This makes the on/off pin to "spit" out of the on/off top, and push the trigger against your finger at twice the pressure needed to pull the trigger.

4lbs to pull the trigger, trigger resets at 8lbs, effectively bouncing your finger off the trigger, making the whole firing process mad fast.

I was wondering this myself... and how do you get unregulated compressed air to the valve if there is an existing regulator on the tank set at 850 psi? Is that double the "actual" operating pressure of the marker? Looking at this Co2 phase chart shows that at 80*F there around 969 psi, so that kind of blows that theory (reactivity on Co2)... would someone enlighten me? http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif

Yep.

Higher input pressure = Greater reactivity.

Heard someone even running their RT at 850 psi. Haven't tried it myself yet. I have tried around 600 psi, which I don't recommend. http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif

Hmm, i don't think that 600 should be making it extreemly reacive, unless you have a really short on-off pin.

Yeh mine was around 600 the other day...trigger would just stick sometimes cuz of the low pressure... I was ticked off till I realized what it was!

PyRo - Oh it isn't reactive at all at 600 psi input pressure, which is why I don't recommend it. The only reason I had it set down to 600 psi was because my field strip screw was lose and my RT was going 'full auto' at anything above that. (realized later the field strip screw was lose... all I had to do was tighten it to fix it - Thanks AGD tech!)

And at 600 psi.. Umm... you short stroke it and break balls left and right. At least I did with mine. Up until this point I had only chopped one ball, and that was due to having next to no air in my tank.

I love playing with mine set around at 750 psi. Haven't tried anything higher, but I have read in the forum of players setting it as high as 850 psi.

Well I use 850 psi all the time. Man that thing jumps! Reason I use 850 is I am too poor to buy a adjustable tank and my Crossfire is preset set at that (I think). But it works just fine. I cannot short stroke with it like that. I actaully like it so far.

All if not most presets systems are set at 800 - 850psi.

So there's really no choice in what pressure to run at if you have a preset.

I have a Pure Energy at 850psi. Which I use on my retrovalve.
