That's a prtty interesting piece. I can't say I've actually seen it so I don't know anything about it but it doesn't really look like Dali's style. Do you happen to know the name of it. I could find out more information about it with a name.

Well, can't say as I recognize it, but that's not saying much. It looks like it's ink or charcoal is it? Do you have an idea of when if was created? That'd help looking through my books.

EDIT: Maybe early transitional series. Doesn't look quite right for any of the other ones.

Yeah, I am not too sure about that one...it doesn't look a whole lot like Dali to me...but it could be in a series I haven't seen of his. Let us know when/if you find out.

Hi Jack,

Well I looked at the drawings, the didn't come to mind as Dali, but I'm not going to dispute it, I know a little about art....being an artist you have to study the masters.

However I did come across an early work of his done in 1914. It has almost the same style, however I didn't find the two in particular that you show.

So after much thought, I began to think, after looking at your two drawings I did a blow up of the signature. Dali did sign his drawing and paintings in a different way latter in his life. However your signature didn't match his?

Odd. Are these prints or originals?

At any rate I am a Dali enthusiast I love his work and Norman Rockwell.

Here is a autococker that I painted for Dan of Triggernomics fame

Nice Fry. We have "Presistance of Memory" in the collection here at MoMA. I wonder if it's in the public domian, or if you owe us some money:rolleyes:

Jack, you should ask the Dali Museum in Florida.

hehe, I saw that at MOMA a while back, I was surprised that it was so small, I was thinking it was going to be at least 24x32

I looked on the Florida Dali website and it wasn't there, so he may wanted to email them the pictures.

So what do you do at MOMA, I am envious

I'm the Assistant Coordinator of Exhibitions. Sounds good, but not that big of a deal. Specially now that we are in Queens:( If you are interested in Modern art, I recommend the Matisse Picasso show that open in February.

Well I talked to a specialist and he told me they are Dali lithographs. He told me they're are many fakes on the market and that they are worth between $500 and $1000. That 1960's sig kind of the like the one on the painting. ITs definetly a 4 letter name.

I fouund this Dali piece on a classified site. I have one thats just like it, but with different background and gold dots. I'll try to get a pic of the one I have later. Does this help anyone with figuring out which series the other paintings are from?

It is kind of funny how he can go from surreal to abstract?

As far as the series I never found that out. Did you email the Dali museum?

More than likely they would know.

THis painting is called Viso Celato. Does that help anyone with what series this is? Dali website couldn't tell me anything. My $10 dollar appraisal didn't help much either. All they did was recommend a $300 appraisal. Im not even going to go there.
