Will any old air compressor (say a 2 horse power compressor) fill an HPA bottle or does it have to be a very powerful one?

it has to be breathable air... so any old compressor will not work, and it should be able to fill your bottle if its a scuba compressor

air compressors compress air from the outside so they do compress breathable air...
But the only problem is that they only compress to around 150 psi or so (i think maybe a little lower/higher). So to answer your question, no a regular compressor will not work. http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif

What I am reffering to is not a scuba compressor it is a garage type compressor used for filling tires and things like that.

In that case what type of air compressor will work?

You can use an air compressor. They cost about 2-4000$ though.

It will give enough air to shoot the Matrix a few times http://www.automags.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

A normal garage air compressor will not work, the only compress air to about 130-180psi

You would have to get a scuba compressor, and they cost about $2000 to $4000 I think you can by one at www.worr.com (http://www.worr.com) (I know it's cockers), it might be a cascade system though. And if you live in a humid climate You will have to find a way to make sure you keep that humidity out of your tank, I know around here when wnter rolls areound and I have to use my air compressor I can see water fapor spray out, I wouldn't want that in my tank.

Worr has a booster not a compressor. Air America also has a booster now too, and nitroduck. With a booster you need a large tank of low pressure air to boost to high pressure. Here are the cheapest high pressure compressors I have found.

Although on the last link there is no price listed.
