Well,

i got my PIPE in mail yesterday, and i thought you all mite like some more info and pics. since there hasent been much floating around.

my first impression after i took it out of the box was what a nice package/case.

it is 3 part case. the big tube and the cap for it. then theres a red stand to hold the backs and the tip. i went to pull a back off and it was hard. then i noticed that there were Orings on the shafts holding the backs and the tip in place. i thought that was a nice touch, so your stuff wont roll around.

when i got the back off, the first thing i looked at was the milling. it looks like a mirror in there, i dont know how to tell but it looks like it is honed to .0007 like they say. it is very nice.

so i screw the back into the tip, yes the back into the tip, onlike the freak. the alignment of the backs to the tip looks perfect. and since the lip is going in the right direction (back->tip) it looks like it should be easy on balls.

the porting on the tip is at a strange angle like they say. i will have to wait to break a ball to see how it clears. or maybe when i get more air ill clogg them up and see.

so i put it on the gun and air it up. it is a lot more quite then my freak. i grab some paint and head outside.
it shot great. nice match to the paint i had and hitting strings on the side is a 4" tree.. i ran out of air pretty fast so i couldnt test to much.

but what i did notice was that the tapper in the tip made it easier to aim. i like to aim down the barrel and it is like you are seeing a point to your target. it is hard to explain, but the tapper flows down your eyes and points to where you want to shoot

well thats enuff for now, here come the pics. i tryed to pickup on the stuff i talked about.

Great review! Anyone know if the pipe comes in a different fade than white-black? I'd buy one if it were all black... Oh yeah, I wonder if Evil is thinking of making a pipe with a SS or Titanium back. Nice X-mag, by the way.

I hope they will make this for the regular mags

Falcon, PMI said that they don't have plans to make it for the twist-lock barrels. That is because AGD's high-end markers use Cocker threads, and so do the sluggos. I read somewhere that Doc's customs makes an adapter for twist-locks to fit Cocker barrels.

Hop on down to docsmachine.com and look it up. Last I checked, it wasn't on there, but you can always e-mail him.

Crog, i payed 199, from www.paintballdiscounters.com . they said they cant keep them on the shelves.

Dio91, the tapper goes fron your red circle to the tip. it getts smaller.

darkload, i heard that the are going to make more colors soon, i heard red->black, blue->black, all black, and of course the sliver->black.

here some requestred pics

bah - That's not sighting down the barrel, that's down the side of the marker! - I can't wait till this passing fad of center-feed markers goes away. :D

I think he meant the barrel is Tapered. It get narrower as it gets closer to the tip. Nice review! I also Emailed Doc's Machine, and got no answer. Its been almost a week-and-a-half. I really cant stand companies that dont reply to customer inquiries.

Hmmm. Can you list the sizes? i am kinda interested. If they have Blue to Black like you said, than i might be trading in my Freak. :P i dunno, looks cool, sounds cool, and if it shoots well. i will have to try one.

I shot an evil pipe last week and i was very impressed. As Data stated it is very nice to site down the barrel. I also noticed that if you chop or blow any balls the barrel shoots through them very well. The paint blows out of the angled porting and it only takes a few balls to shoot the barrel clean.

Ok, it looks good, sounds good and the other reviews i've seen have been good, but how does it shoot? How about a follow-up review on the real-world experience?

There are not inserts. He was comparing the size with the freak insert and the Pipe back

Well 2 of my friends got theres at cup and use them on there angels and those things rock.I say there better than the freaks.Because u wont have any bent inserts. And the pipe is one of the straighest shootin barrels too.

From what I understand, PMI is having a hard time getting one of the backs correctly sized. The shipments have slowed or stopped until the problem is solved.

My local store has tons of them. Their team is sponsered by PMI so that might be why. I also love the looks of them, they will let people take them out on the field and play a couple games with them.:)

I've played with one on an Impulse quite a bit, and I do prefer it to my freak. Pipe shipments have been slow in my area too, but I have yet to talk to anyone that hasn't liked theirs. The shoot very well, and the angeled porting does make a difference.
