If Paintballs Were Only Cheaper...
Say one company found a way to market it at like $10 a case of 2000 without losing any of the characteristics of today's brands. What would happen? An explosion of new players since paintball is cheaper? More one case one kill players? Please comment.

Then again...it wouldn't be that great. Then any old player can carry a 12+1 harness with 140 tubes a game and would never stop shooting their marker. It would be kinda boring hearing dundundundundund the WHOOOOOLE game. No one would stop shooting...yet they could make limits to how much paint you could use a game. Now that would be fun. Then you could play all weekend long without having to worry about running out of paint.

Newbies might get lit up more by other newbies........

Make more people leave maybe?

Paint is approaching a reasonable level.. I wouldnt mind paying 1 to 1.5 cents a ball for cheaper end stuff. But then again, I do that now.

Good point, but fields could just have a shot limit rule. Most do, but its not strictly enforced...though with newbies, only God knows what they'll do...what rules they'll break...I dunno.

I still think it would be cool if paint didn't cost so much. http://www.automags.org/ubb/smile.gif

Lots more 114ci tanks would suddenly show up.

Entry fees would go up (hey, they are running a business)

My trigger finger would get sore.

You would see backpacks for carying pods onto the field instead of harnesses.

Kids won't have to listen to there parents complain about the cost of paintball as much.

People would play more, I know a lot of people who don't play much cause of cost, though they love the sport.

I would jump up and down for joy

Most of the mules I see don't wear JT packs. They have those super packs now to hold like 7 to 10 pods. The speed pack only holds 4. Not that I like them or anything.

I actually think it would be really bad for the sport if a case was $10. Because think about it, you could shoot the entire time! SO that means people will be geting lit up constantly. Feilds will also have to find some way of cleaning up all this paint, becuase they simply cant leave that much paint on the feilds or it will become a lake of swirling colors.

I for one wouldn't even like playing anymore unless there is some kind of limit to the amount of paint you can bring onto the feild. This is because i hate those games where there is so much paint flying that you literally cant leave your bunker for the entire game.

well, some players do carry a case of paint w/ them on the field.

figure 12 150 round pods+ 200 rounds in the hopper

paint is cheap. when i started playing i played $93 for a case of RPS premiums online.

i payed well over that for crappy paint, but then again half a case was plenty for a LOOOOONG day of play, today that's only one semi-intense hyperball match. good quality paint needs to be in the $30 area and i bet it will be someday, but not as long as we continue to think it's okay to pay $50-70 a case for permium quality paintballs. remember when cd's cost $20....and we liked it? times change, the sport is still relatively young and unfamiliar to many people...in time that will change and we will reap the benefits of lower costs......of course enthusiasts will pay premium costs for what they love to do, but if this sport is ever going to be taken seriously by the mainstream public then we'll need to get more non-enthusiasts out on the fields and the only way is to lower costs of paint/rental fees. let's face it, if the average person has a choice between spending $80-100 for one day of paintballing or playing another sport which does not have the same overhead costs plus they have enough money to go drinking afterwards, what do you think they will choose?
