Ronn Stern, paintball's premier artist, has announced plans to promote a completely new concept for the game of paintball, summer camps. These camps, to be called Ronn Stern Gear Paintball Camps, will draw players from across the North America and feature celebrity instructors from all walks of paintball life educating players on all aspects of the game, from physics to bunkering.

Ronn Stern has pulled out all the stops for his summer paintball camps. Scheduled for mid-summer 2003, the camps will provide players with absolutely everything they require for several days of intense paintball action. Major national hotel chain AmeriSuites has signed on to provide campers with lodging and transportation for the duration of the camps, and in a stunning move that is sure to have permanent, positive repercussions across the paintball world, Pepsi is aboard for drinks and other promotional assistance that is yet to be determined but should be announced soon. Stern's ability to draw such a powerful corporate presence into the sport of paintball should not be soon forgotten and could lead to a much greater involvement in the game in the future. Splat Brothers Paintball of Richmond, Virginia will provide their newly remodelled paintball park location for the camps, and will provide rental gear for any players who require it. Also included in the price of the camps will be every meal the players eat, two cases of paintballs and all necessary air, unlimited photograph and autograph opportunities with the celebrity instructors, and Ronn Stern Camp exclusives such as collectible barrel blocking devices, shirts and headbands.

Several major paintball companies have also gotten on board for Stern's camps. Tom Kaye, creator of the Automag line and owner of prestigious company Airgun Designs will not only be on hand to instruct along with longtime player Shanon Mahone, but will also sponsor the event, as will his good friend Bud Orr, creator of the Autococker and his company Worr Game Products, who manufactures one of the hottest paintball guns on the current market, the Orracle E-Class. Powerlyte, manufacturer of an outstanding line of paintball gun barrels, grip frames and now the Hybrid paintball gun, have signed on from Raleigh, North Carolina, and Redz Comfort Gear and PMI have also committed. Paintball 2Xtremes is the official magazine of Ronn Stern Gear Paintball Camps, with Assistant Editor Joshua D. Silverman and star reporter and paintball celebrity Bea Youngs attending as journalists and instructors. Most recently, PaintballCity.com has signed on as an internet resource for Ronn's Camps.

Other paintball celebrities signed as instructors for Ronn Stern's camps include superstar front player and Angel technician extraordinaire, Rocky Cagnoni of professional paintball team Avalanche and John Call of International Amateur Open and Aruba Open Amateur five-man Champions Brimstone Smoke, and of course artist, paintball player and owner of Ronn Stern's Impact paintball team, Ronn Stern himself.

With massive industry support and sponsorship from outside the paintball industry, Ronn Stern's paintball camps are certain to be a success, attracting players from across the United States. More information on these unique and exciting paintball opportunities may be found at www.paintballcamps.com, www.ronnstern.com or by calling event organizer Don Hager at Ronn Stern Direct, at (804) 790-1215.

NOTE: The PaintballCamps.com web site has not yet been completed. To get in touch with Don Hager please email him at don@ronnstern.com.

That is great… but far from being a completely new concept…. Sorry.

Ronn Stern, paintball's premier artist, has announced plans to promote a completely new concept for the game of paintball, summer camps.
The LEVEL of his Camp may be new (involving more “famous” folks), but his idea and what is happening is not new. Adventure Games Paintball (and others) have held Summer Camps for quite a long time, and covered the same things Ron’s Camp will be… again, minus the “celeb” part.

I give Ron his due for getting his Summer Camp organized, but folks have to keep in mind that this is not uncommon, unique, or unheard of. I hope all goes wonderful for him though.

It sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I thought it was interesting how much they talked about celebrities etc but they never talked about the paintball part. About what you will be doing in terms of playing the game etc. Three days doesnt really seem like that long to learn that much or even play that much. And if you only get two cases of paint thats kinda weak. I would like to hear more about it before committing. I dont really want to pay 400 just to meet rocky and drink a lot of pepsi products.

He is a toad. He is admittedly one of the ugliest men in the Porn Industry and a total crap head. His “ways” with women are no more special than going down to any Red Light District…. The women were PAYED to have sex with him… period.

Marilyn Chambers said that he was one of her first in the industry and she used him as a test. She said if she could have sex with him, she could have sex with anyone.

Yeah.. he is a real idol… you and Master Card could be one too. ;)

It's going to cost $699 for resident campers (people who don't live in the area) and $499 for day campers. So it's a pretty hefty price, I'd still like to go though. Maybe ask my parents to pay half or at least part.

Shartley, could you give me some links or info of the other paintball camps you know of? I'd like to see and compare prices and see what the others offer. Thanks!

I don’t have any off the top of my head, but have seen them before. Like I said, Adventure Games Paintball in Weare, NH has had Summer camps for quite some time (up to last year) and they were like a week long each, had camping on site, meals included, safety classes, paintball clinics, etc. and ran between $200-$300 for the entire week (if my memory serves me correctly).

If you were truly interested in PAINTBALL and not seeing what some might consider “celebs”, it was the way to go. Adventure Games is holding off doing their camps now though. But I am sure I have seen other such camps. And I am sure that with a little searching, people can find other camps.

I guess it all comes down to what you want out of your paintball camp experience.

I wish Ronn all the best, and that his camp goes well. I just hope folks can get to camps within THEIR budges, which I feel this one is definitely out of the average paintball player’s.

i just registered for the 2nd session on July 7-10

i called up and talked to the guy that owns the field (i think his name was Don, dont quote me on that though) and he sounded REALLY enthusiastic about it and was very willing to talk to me about it and tell me everything i wanted to know. He made it sound like it was going to be awesome!! Also, it said that Shannon Mahone would be doing the mag tech class, which is still awesome, but i'm wondering if Tom is gonna be there as well to help with the class?

I'm very excited to go and am looking forward to it!

Lol, that actually exists. Well, not really. On "The Man Show", Adam and Jimmy went to "Adult Film Camp" or something like that, and Ron Jeremy was one of the featured celebrity instructors. It was a very funny bit.

to answer your question...

Shannon Mahone is hosting/teaching an Automag airsmithing class on behalf of AGD because Tom can only fly in for half days session.

The tech classes are going to be held at the hotel during the evenings and this conflicted with Tom's prior autograph signing sessions accross the universe.

Is very tempting, but $699 for the camp + getting there might be a problem. Don't think I can take a week off to go. I'm not a rich wolfy. :(

Perhaps an AO carpool?

check out the web site for age limits...I do not think there is one...

Cost of the camp...I do not see how people think this camp cost so much for what you get, all of your food and lodging each day plus paint plus all the activites at the field you get to do with paitnballers who know how to win consistanly...when you are done not only will you be a better ballers but you will have the memiores of the summer camp with picturs and videos.

C-YA!!!

Don't get me wrong, I really want to go, the camp by itself is worth it. However when you figure in the travel cost, for some people it gets harder and harder to come up with the cash. For me that cost is in excess of $1000 for travel and the camp, which doesn't cover memorabilia or the tech classes. Also, considering I don't have such a great income, that much cost equates to a lot of time at work.
